One of the few in the area with good prices and excellent, generous dishes rich in truffles. The staff is friendly and fast. On weekends, it's best to book if you want an early lunch. They've improved over time, and everything remains high-quality except the price. Even after so many years, you still appreciate the family atmosphere and the friendliness of Santino and Valerio, who rush to fulfill customer requests.

We were looking for a restaurant for Sunday lunch, saw that the restaurant parking lot was packed, and trusted our instincts. It was me, my wife, and my 3-year-old daughter, who had a cutlet and fries. We had an appetizer, a first course, two second courses, two desserts, and two coffees for less than 70 euros. Top quality.

Absolutely worth trying! Fantastic food. We recommend the trio of: bark and porcini mushrooms, pappardelle with hare, and trofie with wild boar. The lamb was incredible. Antonio and Max tried it. Regards.

The best in Laceno. If you're looking for authentic, traditional food, Il Fauno is the place for you. It's a retro yet elegant location, with efficient, friendly, and fast service, even when the dining room is full. The antipasto is truly amazing, with truffles taking center stage in every dish: mixed salad, speck salad with provola, bruschetta, asparagus, and much more. I recommend the trio of first courses to appreciate the variety, especially the olive leaf parcel. We didn't get to try the second courses because we were full, but it's a great incentive to return. The desserts, made in Bagnoli, are also delicious. Finally, the quality/price ratio is excellent, and of course, but not necessarily, the complimentary coffee.

23/07/2026: On an evening when several restaurants were closed, we found this restaurant open. It was an unexpected surprise! We weren't familiar with it, even though we've been coming to Ariano Irpino for years. They welcomed us kindly, even though we were the only two customers. We sampled a plate of excellent artisanal cheeses and cured meats, flavors that transported me back in time. Three excellent hot appetizers: ricotta-stuffed zucchini blossoms, porcini mushroom tart with chicory and sprigs of crunchy almonds, and crispy breaded caciocavallo cheese. Finally, two first courses: red ravioli with ricotta and Montoro onions, saffron-infused ricotta salata, and spaghetti with lemon, capers, and bottarga. Everything was unique, very refined, and flavorful. All accompanied by an excellent 2020 Aglianico recommended by the owner. We also enjoyed a sampling of homemade cookies and tart, accompanied by grappa and a black cherry liqueur. The owner offers a wide selection of wines, which shows his passion, especially for his work in general. He only recommends dishes after understanding your tastes. We were treated as if the place were fully stocked, being able to choose any dish, which was not at all a given. A truly highly recommended place!!!
21/07/2026: A fantastic restaurant, well-known to locals. The road is only wide enough for one car to get there, but once you arrive, it's an absolutely wonderful place where the food is superb and the welcome is perfect, even if you don't speak the language. I highly recommend it. The owners are incredibly attentive and do everything they can to communicate using Google Translate! A delight of local cuisine that makes you forget all about those touristy restaurants you should absolutely avoid.

Hotel Ristorante Portobello

10/08/2026: I ate at Portobello Restaurant with my family after a few years, and everything I remembered was confirmed and even improved. The fish was incredibly fresh and perfectly cooked, so much so that it didn't weigh you down even after a hearty meal. All the first courses were excellent, and the scialatiello was especially popular. The fish soup, on the other hand, was excellent in terms of quality, quantity, and presentation. Highly recommended.
10/08/2026: I'm always hesitant to find seafood restaurants far from the sea, both because of the quality of the ingredients and the culinary philosophy. Portobello amazed me on both counts: the fish was incredibly fresh, tasty, and above all, traditionally cooked, without too many frills. The fish soup was amazing, rich and with a wide variety of high-quality fish. Add to this a welcoming atmosphere and pleasant, professional service. We'll definitely be back again... twice... who knows how many more times!
