Il Castello In Petralia sottana

This small medieval town on top of a hill in the Parco delle Madonie in Sicily has this one hotel in the middle of narrow, winding, hilly, cobbled streets. Parking is a matter of luck, as you can imagine, but once parked one can walk all around town. The hotel had someone waiting for us to hand over the keys and we were on our own after that. The first odd thing we noticed is that rooms 1 & 2 are on the top floor while room 6 is on the ground floor. Of course there are no lifts in this renovated medieval building, so three flights of stairs will keep you healthy when you’re in room 1. The room itself was very spacious and offers all the facilities one expects. The bathroom flushing was the second quirky thing we experienced - it’s a push button function but a sign on the wall advises guests that they need to push it several times with some energy for it to function - unfortunately I did not take a photo of the sign! Other than that our stay was pleasant and the breakfast buffet was enjoyable.

The Castle 🏰 what can I say I ate like a King. Truly exquisite dishes, all prepared with care and attention to the presentation of the dishes. Cozy and clean place, a really nice place. The owners are kind and helpful. Congratulations again.

Il castello ristorante esperienza superlativa, dall esterno puoi capire come starai all'interno locale accogliente e pulito con l atmosfera del camino acceso, bel tovagliato, abbiamo mangiato molto bene, antipasti il castello molto buoni, frittura buona, i primi un esplosione di sapori e contrasti, consiglio la carbonara e i ravioli con zucca l interno era bello pieno pasta fatta in casa, puoi scegliere il vino scendendo in cantina, servizio ottimo camerieri attenti e gentili ritorneremo sicuramente grazie di tutto.

We stayed in a very spacious and comfortable quadruple room. Excellent cleaning. Only regret: not being able to taste your cuisine. By mistake I hadn't booked thinking that the guests of the structure could have easier access to a table. Next time we will book the table at the same time as the room.

Abbiamo proprio mangiato bene. Una sosta di passaggio con amici, una domenica in giro sulle madonie. Vale la pena di fermarsi. Ottimo il pane da forno locale servito caldo. Ottima qualità di affettati e formaggi madoniti serviti in quantità. E soprattutto da assaggiare lo stinco cotto al forno a bassa temperatura. Squisito. Eravamo in 9. Tutti concordi nel dire che questi ragazzi sanno lavorare! Grazie
