Being lovers of good food, upon our arrival in Palermo we set out to find a place where we could eat well and possibly one that was most in keeping with the simple traditions and free from concoctions that nowadays abound, especially in areas frequented by tourists. By intuition or by instinct, we decided to try Cambusone, located in Piazza San Andrea and near Corso Vittorio Emanuele. We arrived without a reservation, but Tony (one of the two owners together with Alex) took steps to find us a table since they had everything booked and placed us in a quiet corner since the same table was reserved for 9 pm. The terrace location is nice and quiet, being away from both car and pedestrian traffic, all the staff are welcoming and helpful. Salvo, the boy who handles us for the service, together with Tony and Alex, is very helpful and kind. We decided to try some fish-based dishes and I assure you that they prepare real delicacies with raw materials at the 🔝, the preparation of the dishes offered is very well prepared and presented. The service is 10+. And so we decided not to look for alternatives since a winning team never changes🤣 and during our stay in Palermo Il Cambusone was our reference for our dinners. During the various visits we tried several dishes offered on the menu and never a flaw to complain about as well as the excellent service of all the staff. A restaurant with a wealth of experience, and you can taste it all in their dishes. The mussel soup was delicious, along with the octopus salad. Quick and efficient service provided two sublime starters: busiate pasta with grouper and tomato, and fettuccine with shrimp and pesto. All courses were served hot and plentiful. Prices were reasonable for the high quality of the food.

Great food and top-notch service. We were lucky to get a table for two at short notice. The fish was perfectly prepared, and the side dishes were equally delicious!

A great restaurant where you can enjoy your meal in peace and quiet—unlike most places in Palermo. The dishes are freshly prepared and the taste is unbeatable. A classic Sicilian restaurant, just as you'd expect. The staff was also very accommodating and fun to be with. To avoid waiting times and shortened dining times, we recommend reserving a table in advance. Even the day before, it was no problem to reserve a table. If you dine in the evening, you can also expect live Italian music accompanied by a mandolin player.

We had lunch here. The staff members were very attentive, the ambiance was inviting, and the food was delicious. It was a memorable and enjoyable meal.

Il Cambusone is a restaurant located in a quaint little square, making dinner even more enjoyable. We ate really well, starting with the appetizer and ending with the dessert. To start, we chose the grilled octopus and the mixed seafood platter, which included shrimp tartare, scampi, octopus salad, and smoked tuna. This was followed by fried fish, fried cod with Tropea red onion, and a breaded swordfish steak with aromatic herbs. And to finish, a tiramisu and a cassata. The food was truly delicious, the fish was incredibly fresh and the portions generous. The service was fantastic; the staff were friendly and always ready to offer advice; we truly felt at home. Luckily, we had reservations because there was only the outdoor dining area, which unfortunately didn't have a lot of seating. Another lovely addition to our dinner was a young man playing the mandolin. We had a wonderful, unforgettable evening at this place.

Reservamos para cenar en este magnifico restaurante sencillo pero acogedor y perfectamente dirigido, nos sentamos en un espacio situado en un altillo, todas las mesas de alrededor estaban ocupadas por publico italiano con lo que eso conlleva de alegría y alboroto, Cuentan con una magnifica carta de platos de pasta y pescado buenísimos, tomamos de primero para compartir 1 de Fritura mista di pesce, de segundo 1 de Fettuccine dei compari Pece spada, cozze, bottarga. pomodoro seco y pangrattato, de postre 1 Tiramisú a modo nostro con aggiunta di Marsala, para beber una bptella de vino blanco Siciliano Etna (25.-Euros). Total: 79.-Euros. Magnifica relacion calidad precio. Muy, muy recomendable.
