A very beautiful experience... The signs left by mothers who, when leaving their child, placed half a medal next to him, a figurine cut in half and kept the other half to be able to prove that they were the real mother.

Where it all began with my great-great-grandfather Angiolo. Born and abandoned in 1854. As a sign of identification, a silk handkerchief with the initials of an Austrian noble family and a half medallion.

Once again, after having a coffee on the museum terrace with a breathtaking view of the Duomo and other beauties of the city, we enjoyed the wonderful exhibition on Toulouse Lautrec.

Toulouse-Lautrec Exhibition
I visited with an exceptional guide, and I enjoyed the exhibition, which immersed us in the atmosphere of the Belle Époque. The lithographs are posters advertising shows or divas of bohemian Paris. The exhibition is complemented by furnishings and lamps in the floral style we call Art Nouveau.
Worth a visit, very interesting.

Beautiful art museum, formerly a convent and sanatorium. The gallery is on the second floor; be careful not to miss it as the path to it is poorly marked.

The museum itself is worth a visit, not to mention the current exhibition on Toulouse Lautrec, which is truly beautiful. A visit to the rooftop bar is recommended. The view is beautiful.

In addition to the exhibition, the fresco room and all the external and internal architecture are very beautiful.

It was wonderful to visit the museum of the world's first orphanage. The history is incredible, and the place still contributes to children's education. The story tells how, at one point, a specific place was set up where people could anonymously leave their babies, a policy that ended in the late 1800s when a dedicated office was established.
I loved it, and I want to say that the staff is so kind! I needed to access the archives (you have to make an appointment), and they helped me find my great-great-grandmother's papers. She had been left there... I was able to see and photograph her admission slip, the note from the midwife who attended her mother, and the broken coin she had as a token. It was very moving, and they were so helpful.

Truly splendid, a museum that is perhaps penalised by other places in Florence that are perhaps more prestigious but in my opinion it is worth a visit.
