Amazing museum and architecture. A must see.

The museum is in the building of an old orphanage for very young children. I learned a lot about orphans of the 15th-18th centuries. There are archival records, reconstructions, and digital galleries. The exhibition is beautifully done and decorated with soul.

Fantastic news! From 23 May 2025, the Fresco Gallery will reopen to the public after decades. It consists of twenty-eight preserved works that now become an integral part of the museum itinerary. Visitors have access to completely renovated spaces, arranged according to a chronological and thematic criterion, with a layout that aims to facilitate the vision of all users. Accessibility has also been improved through the tactile itinerary for the visually impaired and tactile reproductions in four-colour process and Braille have been introduced; furthermore, a new guide has been drawn up for facilitated reading of the museum for people with intellectual disabilities.

The place is beautiful. I visited it during an Escher exhibition in 2023. The facilities are modern, respecting the building's architecture. The staff is very friendly.

Beautiful complex where you can admire the history of the institute and those who have passed through here over the centuries and the temporary exhibitions. The café on the top floor offers a spectacular view of Florence.

DOPO LE ORE 14.OO IL CUOCO NON ACCETTA PIU' ORDINAZIONI PER IL PRANZO. DOPO LE ORE 14.00 SI POSSONO ACQUISTARE BEVANDE E ALIMENTI GIA' PREPARATI VISIBILI AL BANCO ALL'INGRESSO, IL PERSONALE E' GENTILE, MA ACCETTANO DI SERVIRE AL TAVOLO SOLO CLIENTI CHE ORDINANO QUALCOSA DI PIU' DI UN CAFFE'. AMBIENTE TRANQUILLO E POCO RUMOROSO, VISTA SUI TETTI DI FIRENZE E LE COLLINE TOSCANE IN LONTANANZA. ACCESSO AGEVOLE PER TUTTI SIA DALLE SCALE CHE DALL'ASCENSORE. EFFICACE SIA PER UNA SOSTA TURISTICA SIA DI LAVORO.

Situato in p.zza dell'Annunziata nello Spedale degli innocenti, questo caffè gode di una bellissima vista sulla cupola del Brunelleschi e sui tetti di Firenze in un'atmosfera elegante e tranquilla. Bevande e cibo ok mentre il servizio deve migliorare in efficienza e cordialità.
