Very, very authentic… if you're looking for a small, dreamy restaurant, you've come to the wrong place. Instead, it is very lively and literally overrun by locals. The antipasti buffet is stunning and very dangerous. A feast for vegetarians! Pasta and pizza... except for one caveat: Carbonara is more commonly understood here (at least I was unlucky once before) as a kind of scrambled eggs with pasta. The pistachio cake was heavenly!

Mixed appetizers with too many mushrooms, but discreet. Horse meatball too dry and perhaps with little meat on the total. The rest is just sufficient in quality. Excellent price.

Durante una delle mie frequenti visite a Catania, mi sono lasciata consigliare da un amico dove poter mangiare dell ottima carne di cavallo e mai scelta fu più azzeccata. Locale accogliente, personale cortese ed efficiente. Ottimo il rapporto qualità prezzo.

Restaurant in the Ursino castle area. You eat discreetly and if the place is crowded the dishes arrive after a long waiting time. Excellent bill that partially erases the wait

All very good, helpful people, I recommend booking in advance in the evening, often you can't find a place. The salads and mixed grills are delicious

31/10/2024: Siamo andati a ceno io e mia moglie locale bello rustico come piace a noi cameriere super gentili nel accogliere e nel consigliarti abbiamo preso un antipasto di pesce molto buono si sente che il pesce è freschissimo 2 due primi ricci e risotto alla zucca anche questi molto buoni lo consiglio vivamente

Trattoria La Canonica

09/02/2025: After a walking tour with a local guide we went to eat at this place on his suggestion and we had a great time. From the outside it doesn't seem very different from the many tourist traps in the historic center of Catania, but in reality it turned out to be a place with a very familiar atmosphere. The interior is full of objects and ornaments, to the point that you can hardly see the walls, but the place is clean and the food (in the most rigorous Sicilian tradition) is excellent. It was a bit like when you go to eat at your grandmother's house, typical and simple dishes, but always excellent, served in a very quiet and relaxed environment. All in all a great experience.
03/02/2025: A very cute little trattoria. The waiter very nice! The food so good! I can recommend Pasta alla norma! Very good! Dolce also very good! Toilets are clean.
