Quality and hospitality, the best in the center of Florence

Warm, inviting dining space that was made even more memorable by the authentic dishes and professional service. While it was slightly more expensive than some of the other restaurants we dined at during our week in Florence, the food and the professional, attentive service was well worth it.

Meal of my life at Il Barretto twice during our trip to Florence. If I had one night left on earth, I would want to eat here. There should be a 3 month wait to get in, it is that good. This is a family owned, and operated restaurant. The dining room is a beautiful, and intimate setting for the incredible food they serve here. Our server was so lovely, and made us feel incredibly welcome. He knew everything about the menu, inside and out. He had excellent wine recommendations, and gave fantastic tips when selecting from the menu. Everything was fresh, flavorful, and made with love. Pasta, meat, salad, everything. Even the simplest of dishes, such as the Tuscan White Beans, were out of this world delicious. On our second visit, I ordered my own portion and wouldn’t share, that is how good they were. I look forward to coming back to Il Barretto. They treated us like family, it was an authentic dining experience, which is so rare these days. It truly was our top meal, and a very big highlight for our time in Florence.

We had an amazing evening at the El Barreto restaurant! As soon as we arrived, we were warmly welcomed by the owners who made our experience unforgettable. The setting is charming and authentic, perfectly reflecting the essence of Florence. The dishes were simply delicious, each bite was a real culinary journey. The flavors, presentation and quality of ingredients were impeccable. We highly recommend the house specialties, which are a real treat for the taste buds.
