IL BARRETTO In Firenze

We had a fantastic time at Il Baretto with amazing food and great service from Katya. The restaurant was a perfect balance between fine dining and cozy neighborhood restaurant. The service was friendly and the prices affordable.

Katia- IL Barretto Ristaurante - service was exquisite! Quiet restaurant off the Main Street. Very nice and well kept inside. Ambiance is calm, romantic, clean and pleasant. Everyone from the owner to the host were all welcoming & we were greeted warmly upon arrival. Katia was such a pleasure to have as our waitress. She checked in at the right times to make sure we were all right and if we needed anything. My daughters were also treated well. The food was delicious. So good that we went there twice for dinner! We enjoyed the Lobster Pasta, catch of the day Sea Bass Branzino, & pasta with shrimp. We also had the yummy sides white beans, buffalo caprese & mixta salad - all delicious! For dessert we enjoyed the lemon sorbet, tiramisu, & crème brûlée. Can’t wait to come back to Florence to dine at IL Barretta again! Thank you for the outstanding service & delicious food!

Elam, the manager, greeted us immediately and took care of us even though she was already managing a full house. She also went above and beyond to take care of our belongings while we were seated outside. We ordered the lobster spaghetti and warm squid salad. Both were outstanding! The wait staff were friendly, attentive and provided exceptional service.

So far, on our travels of Italy (Rome and Florence), this has been our hidden gem! The best food!! The service was amazing and warm and we loved every minute. We'll be going back tomorrow for our last night!

Tucked away with an inviting charm, this spot completely captured my heart from the moment I walked in. It wasn’t just dinner — it was a welcome to Italy moment that I’ll never forget. I started with the pear and honey appetizer, which was light, fresh, and beautifully balanced — a perfect beginning. Then came the lobster pasta... and I’m still dreaming about it. Every bite was rich, perfectly cooked, and bursting with flavor. I also had a glass (or two) of wine that was so smooth and delicious I forgot to even note what it was — just know that everything on the menu is curated to perfection. The best part? Massimo and Ilam — the owners, hosts, and now two of my favorite people in Florence. Their warmth, kindness, and passion for what they do transformed the evening from a great meal into a memory. I felt so at home I couldn’t leave without giving them both a hug. I was staying at Palazzo Alfieri nearby, and they recommended this as a spot for an intimate dinner. They couldn’t have been more right. It was personal, cozy, and full of joy — exactly what you want when discovering a new city. If you don’t make it to Il Barretto, Italy might not let you back in. I know exactly where I’ll be going my first night every time I return to Florence. 10/10 would recommend.

The vibes and atmosphere of this restaurant are very authentic and comfortable. We got the Florentine steak along with other sides, the steak was one of the best meals we had while on our trip in Italy. You must try the Florentine steak here!!! It is closely ran, the manager Ilam was very nice and welcoming, along with the other staff that are very hard working. I would 100% recommend and eat here again!

Great customer service, reasonably priced food and an amazing menu, we had already had dinner for the night but wanted to try this place out, our waiter Ryan split the meals for us and provided great service!

Wonderful ambience and warm host. We had a cozy table and had attentive service. We had a chicken dish which was good. Excellent wine!
