I Fondi In Bagnone

I didn't read all the reviews stopping at the first page. I am amazed that many are aimed at the quality of the food. I can understand that if the place is managed by a few, or by one person, there may be a bit of a wait... but honestly, criticizing the food so heavily is not the case. We ate for lunch. There were 2 of us and the only table. We ate very well, the owner's service was excellent and the price was correct. Of course... it's not a work lunch with waste raw materials, but high quality eating. The location is really beautiful and I imagine that in the summer it is a dream. So dear tourists... if you want to eat well, stop here.

I feel so pained writing this review as we had the most strange experience here. Basically, you go down some stairs from the main road, and the place looked shut, there was nobody else there, except this lovely lady, who for all we knew was serving us, cooking and hosting us as we saw no other staff or guests there the whole evening, but apparently they'd had a huge birthday party in there for lunch that day. Anyway, Bagnone is a beautiful village and this restaurant has an amazing setting, especially if you can get a table next to the river and hillside view, which is reached by going down a multitude of steps and sections. The only slight downside of being by the river is as the sun set, the mosquitoes and other insects all came out! Anyway, so the starters were fantastic, and my ravioli with a ragu was divine, honestly you can't beat pasta like this, superb. The wine we had was also pleasant and reasonable value too. The main courses of meat, which we were looking forward to, as Lunigiana is famed for it's hunters game and meats, was very disappointing though, and quite fatty and tough in parts, and the selection of veg that came with the meal were fine, but no potatoes or chips of any kind were available which I found staggering (she could have just popped to a shop or neighbouring restaurant to borrow some) and kind of ruined the main course, especially when the meat wasn't great quality. So overall, in Bagnone, there are other restaurants with similar spectacular views, and other restaurants with incredible food, so unfortunately I wouldn't return here or recommend it, and for Italy that is a real shame, as the food quality is everything.

….. con un gruppo di amici decidiamo di andare in questo locale a cena….. Si trova in centressimo a Bagnone e per raggiungere il locale c’è un lunga scalinata. Quando arrivi un panorama stupendo . Per quanto riguarda pietanze sono discrete, il problema è la gestione che è tutta in mano alla proprietaria ossia ad un’unica persona…..

We went today, the menu was very good, but the service was completely inefficient...we waited almost 2 hours for lunch. The price was a bit excessive... we recommend that you organize yourselves so as not to lose your customers.

Location molto caratteristica, proprietaria vuole fare tutto da sola e quindi si aspetta, prezzi medio/alti ma cibo buono poca scelta nelle pietanze. Non bisogna essere esigenti

Cena sul rivale del fiume molto suggestivo piatti tipici vino del posto imbottigliato vicino al castello merita la signora è deliziosa ed accogliente. Parcheggio dietro al paese

Hele mooie plek om te zitten... Eten was heerlijk en betaalbaar. Iets om niet re vergeten.
