Hotel Villa Cipressi Restaurant In Varenna

A hotel with a nice atmosphere and a beautiful view in Varenna. We organized a wedding and left happy.

Villa Monastero was closed so we paid to visit the garden instead. It is a good photo spot and rest stop!

Very pretty garden to visit when coming to Varenna. Entrance fee to the garden 10 euros and 5 euros for students.

I didn't stay in the hotel, but I visited the hotel's botanical garden. I recommend! Beautiful views, wonderful plants

Had a short stay here sometime late May. Essentially a wedding hotel with a killer view. Rooms are rather claustrophobic, but not surprising due to the location - it's all narrow paths and walkways throughout Varenna. The front desk staff, bar man, garden crew, and even the team at breakfast were all really nice, helpful and polite. So great job to them. However, I'm docking one star for that ONE sour-faced man assigned to transport me to the train station just a 5-minute drive away. He had the audacity to ask me for a tip, and the manner in which it was asked felt entitled and sarcastic. Not only that, he was completely thankless and remained sour-faced even after I gave him EUR20. Not a single smile, not an acknowledgement, just took it and walked away as though he felt insulted doing me this big favor and couldn't wait to leave. Bad way to end the entire experience. Would've been 4 stars otherwise.
