Hotel Villa Cipressi Restaurant In Varenna

We visited Hotel Villa Cipressi to explore the gardens, and it was absolutely worth the €10 entry fee. The views of Lake Como were stunning – peaceful, romantic, and perfect for photos. The gardens are well kept and offer a lovely walk through nature with gorgeous backdrops. We queued at the famous gate for a photo, but the line was quite hectic and we ended up waiting over an hour. Some people took their time, which is understandable, but it did slow things down a lot. It would be great if the hotel added a staff member to help manage the queue, maybe allowing around 2 minutes per person. That small change could make the experience smoother for everyone. After finally getting our photo, we enjoyed a drink by the bar. We didn’t check the price in advance, and a glass of Aperol Spritz came to €18 – definitely on the pricey side, but with that view, it's somewhat understandable. All in all, it was a lovely experience and we’ll definitely be back. Just a few improvements could make it perfect!

My husband and I had such a lovely stay at Villa Cipressi. The views from our room were incredible and the hotel itself is beautiful. The staff were helpful and friendly. The breakfast was a nice addition. And the access to the gardens / views from the gardens made it even more worth it. We will definitely be back!

The villa is very good, but it needs time control for the photo at the gate, people think they are doing a photo shoot and stay for about 10 minutes each person, 3 minutes is more than enough for these photos.

Beautiful gardens, pleasant to walk around. A bit crowded.

I was in the gardens as a tourist. Very beautiful, but keep in mind the number of tourists in season. Minus a star for the queue in front of the gates in the heat (we were there on Wednesday)

It was a nice trip, we went to the botanical garden. I think they should arrange the people who want to take pictures in front of the gate to heaven. because we got into a problem with some people while we were waiting our turn، they were so rude

I really liked the villa. Beautiful views, very green, as if painted. The only minus is that there is a queue very close to the gate... People prevent you from taking a photo. It would be good if there was some kind of note where to start the queue, so that it would be a little further, it would be nice. And so in general I really really liked it

A great stay and wedding at the villa! They put on a wonderful wedding and experience. Breakfast food was decent and room was updated with a nice view. A solidly 4 star experience.

Villa Cipressi came to me softly. I didn’t arrive expecting transformation I just wanted a walk through beauty. But from the first step into the garden, I felt something loosen inside me. The path wound gently down toward the lake, lined with ancient cypress trees and wild blooms that seemed to breathe with me. Nature was alive here, not just growing but speaking. And somehow, I understood. There was a moment where I stood still, the lake shimmering in front of me, the breeze touching my skin, and I felt completely held. No noise in my head. No pressure in my chest. Just a softness like my soul had taken a deep breath for the first time in a long time. And in that space, I felt safe enough to feel. To remember. To reconnect. This garden healed me in a way I didn’t even know I needed.

The views are simply breathtaking! I would love to stay more but our time is limited. Would love to go back here. Hopefully, 🙏
