Hotel Villa Cipressi Restaurant In Varenna

I find the price very very expensive for what it is, the gardens are very beautiful but 10€ entry to see some gardens and an hour of waiting to take a photo in front of the doors is a shame, it is very beautiful but a little less expensive like the other villas on the lake would have been more appreciated

On a beautiful spring day, we visited the park of the Villa Cipressi hotel in Varenna. Very scenic park with a beautiful path up to the lake with a beautiful gate to take photos directly on the lake, then continue along the various paths full of plants and flowers. The succulents are very beautiful. We walked around a couple of times to admire the path. To look for corners to photograph and admire the surrounding landscape. Inside the park there is also a small refreshment point.

We only went there to see the botanic gardens and it was breath taking 🤯

There is no debate the Hotel Villa Cipressi is in an amazing location, with lovely gardens. However, there is one point I hadn’t fully appreciated until I arrived: the hotel is a busy tourist attraction during the day. With no hotel space reserved exclusively for hotel guests (other than the bedrooms), the high number of day-visitors had a direct impact on our guest experience. Outside: the garden and terrace (and only) bar area for the hotel is busy with day-visitors coming in to take photos of the hotel garden’s waterfront gates. On the afternoon we arrived, the hotel’s main terrace felt more like a bus station than a luxury hotel. The next morning, queues for the insta hotspot had started to form again by 10am Inside: The hotel doesn’t have its own restaurant or indoor bar. These are hosted at the neighbouring Victoria Hotel. It’s not difficult to walk between the two hotels but, given the number of day visitors also heading in for a drink/meal you lose the sense of being a hotel guest. First thing in the morning, the quiet gardens (and a delicious breakfast) were excellent - to enjoy those before the crowds, we were up at 7am. Basically, all the locations in the marketing photos exist - it really is picture-postcard lovely - but the premium price you pay for your room doesn't reflect any type of premium experience in the hotel grounds until the hotel stops selling day tickets around 6/7pm.

Incredible time and experience. The staff were helpful, friendly and accommodating for my food intolerances/allergies. The suite/room was break taking with the views of the lake, well decorated, a rain shower ( worth the extra in price- i will remember that view forever!) and they provided a complimentary shuttle which was very helpful with the luggage. The botanical gardens are absolutely beautiful and can be accessed by guests after 8pm. Right next door to Villa Monastero. Thank you so much!! Wonderful experience

For those who want a photo with the gate from Insta, you have to visit this place. Beautiful villa and gardens. People who drag out their sessions are a bit annoying, so advice - you have to chase someone once and then it goes away 🙂

The Villa Cipressi gardens are worth visiting; they're absolutely beautiful, and the views are marvelous. If you want to be in the viral spots, you should go early, as they open at 9 a.m., when it's less busiest. Otherwise, you'll have to wait in long lines to take a photo without the pressure of being rushed.

The hotel is beautiful, but I feel there are much cheaper options around that offer the same amenities. Beyond the beautiful lake view, you can stay elsewhere for less and come to the Cipressi Gardens just for a day walk.

The place is very beautiful, I didn't sleep in the rooms and I only saw them in passing but they were all beautiful and tidy... The view of the lake was truly unique and the food

A beautiful place. The views from the garden terraces are breathtaking. Very nice and comfortable rooms. Clean and luxurious. Delicious coffee and regional breakfast, Adam. Nice service.
