Great Hotel, great spot - if I return to Gradisca d‘Isonzo, I would stay here again. A few things were not quite perfect (some equipment in the bathroom showed their age), but the important things were perfect. One thing I really would recommend anyone going here to do before driving here is to look at where exactly it is located, because it‘s between two roundabouts and hidden a bit, so it‘s easy to miss. Google also takes a weird route there, it‘s usually not the most direct route.

Lovely hotel, a bit older, which is seen inside but with warm feeling, good food in nearby restaurant. Even though it is next to a main road, noise of the traffic is not too obvious

It is located in the town of Gradisca. We only visited the restaurant on our way back from Palmanova. It is located in a quiet place and has a large number of parking spaces. Beautiful terrace and beautifully decorated interior. Extremely friendly and professional staff. Extensive wine list and delicious food. A small complaint about the size of the portions. Otherwise, every recommendation.

I've stayed at Hotel al ponte many times and have always been very satisfied. The owner, Fabiano, his son Marco, Verena, and Sabrina are always very friendly and helpful. Breakfast and the restaurant next door are perfect. I'd love to come back. We stayed at the hotel in September with the Volvo Club Austria; everything was perfect, and we'd love to return. Sadly, Verena (reception) has passed away, and Fabiano, the owner, is also no longer with us due to Covid.

Excellent hotel in Gradisca d'Isonzo. This is my second stay here, and I can only confirm the excellent rating. The property is very welcoming, the rooms are very clean, and the rooms are spacious and quiet, equipped with every comfort. Ample parking is available in front of the property. Breakfast is plentiful and offers quality local produce. The price is average. Highly recommended.

Trattoria al pescatore

12/08/2026: The cuisine is genuinely of a very good standard. The “Antipasto al pescatore” which is a mix of hot and cold seafood, is truly excellent. The “spaghetti con alici” is also noteworthy: flavorful and perfectly creamy. The fresh grilled fish was also very good, highlighting the quality of the ingredients. Now for the disappointing aspects. The table service staff were rather young and somewhat awkward. They actually served one of our two main courses before the appetizer, showing a lack of attention to the customers. Overall, the cuisine gets full marks, while the table service definitely needs improvement.
11/08/2026: A wonderful fish restaurant right on the canal. Walking up there, you wouldn't guess it would be such a great place, but once you're there... world-class. We had the appetizer platter, mussels, spaghetti aglio e glio (the best I've ever had), dessert, coffee, and drinks. We only paid €80 in total. The waiters were friendly, quick, and welcoming. 👍☀️

17/06/2026: Lunch on the terrace, good food and wine, excellent service. Recommended!
08/06/2026: We visited again after a few years, and as always, highly recommended. They serve typical Karst dishes (cucina tipica carsolina), and the appetizer trio was very tasty and of top quality. The owners are part of the Slovenian minority in the province of Gorizia (historical information is available in the restaurant). There are also World War I fortifications (Isonzo Front) nearby. The owner is happy to explain the various access routes (possibly even by mountain bike). We'll be back! Warm greetings from South Tyrol!
