We stumbled upon Gusti Lucani almost by accident, searching online, and it turned out to be a wonderful surprise. The location is splendid, inside the Baronial Castle of Policoro, a charming place that alone is worth a visit. The atmosphere is very welcoming and warm, making you feel immediately at ease. The owner is helpful, knowledgeable, and passionate, always ready to explain the dishes and offer expert advice. The food is the restaurant's true strength: all the dishes are truly excellent, well-prepared, and rich in flavor. We only discovered later that the owner's wife, who calls herself a cook, not a chef, cooks the dishes. This is probably the secret: authentic cuisine, made with love and respect for Lucanian tradition. The food is excellent, the price is fair, and the overall experience is one that leaves an indelible mark. A place we sincerely recommend and where we will definitely return.

From Calabria. We went with friends, stumbling upon it. The owner, exquisite in his manner, saved us from an evening that seemed lost. He made some changes to the menu. The octopus salad with onion and cucumber was amazing, the shrimp cocktail with sesame seeds (I think!). The pepperoni cruschi were incredibly crunchy. The pizzas were excellent. The fried shrimp and calamari were top-notch, the tuna steak was very delicate. Everything was absolutely perfect. Recommended We'll be back. And we will. Thank you.

Warm and very welcoming place, the owner Mr. Emanuele is very kind and affable, I ate pizza and appetizers on a Saturday evening, then we went for lunch, the restaurant was full but despite everything the waiting times were not long, praise must also be given to the service, I recommend it 🥰

Family dinner (6 people) on a Saturday evening. The service was prompt and accurate despite the room being full. The dishes were typical of Lucanian cuisine and absolutely impeccable. The price was average. The location is quaint and clean, inside the baronial castle. Highly recommended!

We were passing through and were greeted with extreme kindness—it may seem obvious, but it isn't. The owner found us a seat even though we hadn't booked and the restaurant was full (two birthdays). Great attention to local products and the cuisine (run by his wife) is truly excellent, with a touch of experimentation. Very fair prices for the quality of the products used, and a comfortable atmosphere. It's a shame we can't become regulars due to the distance, but if we were to visit again, we wouldn't hesitate to return. I highly recommend it, both for the food and for the heartwarming, genuine smiles.

New review for the new location. We've moved to the Castello di Policoro. The location is truly beautiful and well-kept: a huge step up in quality. The pizzas are always excellent; we tried two new ones, which were truly delicious. What can I say, confirming what I've already said... Pino and Mariella are always the best!
