Gong Oriental Attitude In Milano

The atmosphere is very refined and the location is excellent. I'd advise the restaurant to decide what to do when it grows up. If it wants to achieve excellence, it needs to improve its food and service. Alternatively, at the moment, it's worth downgrading its price: for now, Gong is, in my opinion, a "I would like but I can't" and definitely overpriced.

This restaurant is the epitome of fine dining: - excellence in quality - perfection in service - a delicious menu - consistency I can’t say enough praise for this place. The staff are so nice and so professional, the owner Julia is the golden star of service and manners and she knows how to make a place run like a Swiss watch. The food is exceptional and 100% Michelle star worthy. There are many good places is milan. This is the best. Owners should study this place on how to build the perfect fine dining experience. Update, 2026: a few years later and I’m still obsessed. The quality and experience has actually gotten better. I have eaten in the best places in Milan and this is 100% the best culinary experience in Milan and the most prolific and incredible Asian fusion in the world. Hands. Down.

The cuisine is refined, creative, and meticulously crafted, with elegance and intense flavors. The service is impeccable: professional, attentive, and never intrusive. Fantastic service, delicious food. It was my birthday and they gave me a little surprise.

Milan vibrates, Gong resonates. Aesthetics calibrated to the millimeter. Golden lights, lacquered surfaces, the scent of ginger and discreet incense. Then it arrives. The Wagyu Ravioli. Small, shiny, perfect. You cut it and feel the subtle resistance of the dough, the intense aroma of Japanese beef mingling with the sweetness of foie gras. A whiff of black truffle on the nose, then the slow, carnal, almost obscene chew. Fat and velvet, smoke and butter. The flavor grows, rolls, unfolds in the mouth. First the Wagyu, then the liver, finally the earthy note of truffle. It's a luxurious morsel without arrogance, a technical gesture that speaks of emotion. The soul is Asian, the hand is Milanese, the precision is French. Nothing is accidental. Upon leaving, so many sensations remain. The mouth still marked by that noble fat. The certainty that Milan has learned to speak Chinese with a Milanese accent. And I, who leave happy. You can recognize a happy customer because you can't see him. He eats, smiles, and says thank you. Those who complain aren't hungry. They need attention. Happiness isn't ordered from the menu. It's brought from home, like good manners.

A restaurant that doesn't go unnoticed; the elegance of the place is evident from the outside. Fearful of the large number of seats, I thought it was just a decoy, but I was proven wrong. The service is worthy of a Michelin-starred restaurant, with an ever-watchful eye. Never an empty glass, never a dirty table. Chiara is super attentive, and the sommelier is knowledgeable about the wineries featured on the wine list. Phenomenal food, a well-deserved 5 stars.

We had dinner at Gong and were enchanted. As we entered, they removed our coats, put them in the cloakroom, and showed us to our seats. We opted for their classic tasting menu and chose a Jacquesson 748 Champagne. All the dishes were exceptional, of the highest quality, with great technique and remarkable passion from the kitchen staff. The service was impeccable and absolutely appropriate for the restaurant's location. For dessert, we asked the sommelier for a suggestion for a sweet wine to pair with it: we were served a glass of Jurançon Symphonie de Novembre from Domaine Cauhapé, simply amazing. We will definitely return and highly recommend it.
