Historic venue in the city centre, carefully renovated. High quality food with attention to raw materials. Friendly staff, I highly recommend the chef's burger, truly remarkable!

I have always liked Ancestors, especially when I had problems with food intolerances, because they are very attentive to the gluten-free line. The pizzas are always excellent, from the simplest pizzas to the gourmet ones. The variety of grilled dishes that I often have is also good, as is some fried appetizers. They also always have a good line of beers to recommend, both bottled and on tap. Furthermore, with the renovation of the premises it presents itself as an elegant place, suitable for a dinner as a couple as well as a meal with family or friends. I highly recommend it.

Iconic venue, well renovated even if it has completely lost its old identity. Always excellent quality food. Service a bit like this... staff a little unfriendly. As always, it is one of the few places where there is a wide choice of gluten-free dishes, it's a shame they are no longer open for lunch. Always excellent value for money.

We were a table of 9, with a reservation, we didn't have to wait long for the table, the service was fast and the staff were very kind and helpful. Compliments also to the pizza chef, the pizza dough was delicate and as requested, well cooked. The cooking was perfect. Congratulations again to all the staff. Recommended place.

Gli Antenati is one of the places where you can feel like family, the new premises offer a larger and more welcoming environment, where you can spend a nice evening in company, but above all excellent food, with attention to the smallest details, from the various flours: to cereals, to tuminia , sometimes also with basil. Even celiacs can find dishes suitable for them. The dishes are always rich in quality and first choice ingredients; the beers are excellent; the pizzas are incredibly large and tasty. The staff is always smiling and professional; led by the young owner who manages to organize everything with unique professionalism. I recommend booking to have a place in one of the most welcoming places in Messina.

In a semi-deserted Messina I head to the Ancestors in memory of another work trip to the city. It is open at 11pm and this is already a huge advantage considering that practically the rest of the city has its shutters closed. The place has been completely renovated and the rustic style of the past has been replaced by a (for me) more anonymous setup of a modern place. The clientele (at least tonight) is more mature and the atmosphere is decidedly quieter than I had encountered it. Excellent atmosphere for a dinner with friends. But also for my late and lonely dinner. The menu is richer, a sign of a cuisine that is more attentive to a varied and not exclusively young clientele. Point, considering the late hour, a classic sandwich with Messina chops, perfect. Courtesy and attention from the staff definitely above average. Well. Well done.
