Gelateria La Romana in Pavia is an excellent choice for those seeking quality artisanal gelato. The flavors are creamy and well-balanced, with classic options and a few more original creations. You can taste the care taken in the ingredients and the freshness of the products.
The place is welcoming and fairly well-maintained, perfect for a refreshing break during a stroll around the city.
The only reason I'm not giving it 5 stars is that some flavors can be a bit more expensive than average, but the overall quality is really good. Recommended for quality artisanal gelato!

Very good gelato, perhaps slightly more expensive than average. The gelato, cream, and granita flavors aren't clearly distinguished, and the selection isn't very extensive. They favor very unique and sophisticated flavors that change seasonally.

He let me taste all three of the month's limited flavors and gave very professional suggestions for ingredients and flavor combinations.

I've changed my review by removing two stars from the rating due to the rudeness of the staff: the girl serving the ice creams has absolutely no knowledge of manners or how to interact with customers.

I returned to this ice cream shop after some time and unfortunately I have to say that the quality of the ice cream has deteriorated.
At least the flavors I tried weren't up to par with those from a few months ago.
I hope it was just a bad coincidence.

The gelato is good, but the staff leaves a lot to be desired. My friends and I go there quite often, so we've seen all sorts of things. One of the girls making gelato is extremely rude and impolite, and annoyed at her job: she doesn't ask which cone you want, she doesn't put in the whipped cream, she doesn't put in the cookie, and all she needs is for it to be thrown at you. The guy with the mustache is nice, but he doesn't know how to make gelato. Four of us got a cone he made, and the whole thing fell in our hands 10 seconds later. On the other hand, the lady is always very kind, and even the guy with the black earring is always very kind and helpful.
