We really enjoyed the gelato. Creamy and good quality. There's seating inside and two benches outside. The price is moderately high, but the quality of the product is unquestionable. They also have lactose-free flavors.

It's true that you're definitely learning the trade, but you have to put ice cream on the cone, not give us an empty one. Something that the lady who's been coming here for a long time also noticed. A must-see in Salerno I entered Gelateria Cioffi 1955 (affectionately known to many in the area as "Coffi"), and I immediately understood why it's been an institution since 1955. The place is clean, the staff is smiling and incredibly fast, even with the after-dinner line, and the smell of freshly made waffles wafts in the air. The counter is a marvel: velvety creams, toasted hazelnuts that truly taste like hazelnuts, real pistachios, and a variety of bright and natural fruit flavors. But what won me over is the attention paid to those with intolerances. I'm lactose intolerant, and here I don't feel like a second-class guest. They have several clearly labeled lactose-free flavors, made with wholesome ingredients, and—very rarely—they're also gluten-free, with no risk of cross-contamination. They also offer a 100% plant-based soy cone, light and crunchy, which doesn't crumble after a couple of licks and doesn't overwhelm the flavor of the gelato. I had the lactose-free strawberry and lactose-free hazelnut cream in the soy cone: perfect balance, fresh, creamy, and very digestible. Cream is free and plentiful for those who want it, and the price is very fair (€6.00 ​​for two medium cones) for the artisanal quality you get. Cioffi manages to combine tradition and innovation, without ever losing that "old-fashioned" gelato flavor. I'll be back every time I pass through Salerno, and I recommend it to everyone, especially those looking for an inclusive yet truly delicious gelato.
