Galaia In Carloforte

In the 18th century Goethe wrote of Naples "every corner is either a church or belongs to a church" to indicate the high number of churches in the area... if we replace "restaurant" with "church", we have a description of the alleys of Carloforte. In short, there is no shortage of clubs and restaurants just as there is no shortage of quality food but 'A Galaia with its location, its pastel colours, its specialities, the courtesy, kindness, availability and hospitality of Matteo and everything the staff, definitely make the evening special. Definitely an obligatory stop once you arrive in Carloforte.

Four of us had lunch in this lovely restaurant, recommended by a colleague from Carloforte. The first courses are delicious...2 seafood carbonare, Carlofortina pasticcio and fregola with shellfish sauce. 2 mixed fried foods not bad either. Black and white house wine, water, coffee and sorbet invited by the owner. The costs? Quite affordable, just over 30 euros each. Definitely worth going back, with the cooler weather... we were very sorry to leave the air conditioning inside the restaurant to go outside in the scorching heat 😅

Excellent place in the center of Carloforte. Friendly and helpful staff. Excellent food, especially the tuna which obviously cannot be missed in Carloforte.

We were guests for lunch in this restaurant in the historic center, not very far from the port, divided into two parts, practically on both sides of the road. We started with some different set menus based on a trio of starters, a first course and a second course, with the idea of ​​perhaps sharing a taste between us. All dishes were very generous and very tasty. I had never eaten pie and I must admit that I was impressed, really excellent. As well as the trofie with swordfish and seafood carbonara. The second courses are excellent, from tuna with Carmignano to fried calamari and prawns, all rigorously plentiful. The fresh house Vermentino wasn't bad either. Eventually the owner came over to chat with us and offered us sorbet and coffee. What can I say? I had never been there but if I were to return to Carloforte I already know where to eat, at least I'm on the safe side. A special greeting to Fabio and Marina, the top.

Service was a little distracted (I asked for parmesan which however never arrived, ditto the salt... which in the end I went to get myself), but I found everything quite good, even considering the prices, which are quite reasonable. I was sorry not to be able to try the first courses with bottarga (not available) but I found the fregola with seafood ragù really tasty. If I were to return, I would definitely order the seafood carbonara, truly delicious (and plentiful).

Fairly good lunch. Very long times. They mentioned a problem with the staff. There is. It can happen, we are human. However, I think it is a little expensive, compared to what you eat. The mixture of various types of tuna at 25 euros is absolutely to be avoided.

Really delicious dishes, especially the tuna carbonara and the smoked tuna carpaccio. Excellent musciame and heart. Some carelessness in managing reservations but the staff ready to remedy it. It would be perfect to be able to close all the umbrellas in the evening to enjoy the breeze that comes through the alleys

If you want to taste traditional Carloforte dishes I would recommend it! I ate a truly excellent tuna alla Carlofortina!!! As well as the seafood fregola!!

Consigliato da un esercente del posto , abbiamo pranzato da Galliani. Locale molto bello e tipicamente Carlofortino, piacevole all’interno e nel caruggio all’esterno. Piatti von con materie prime di qualità e fresche , a prezzi onesti, personale molto carino, in particolare la ragazza argentina ed il ragazzo locale . Delizioso e simpatico il proprietario, Beppe, che ci ha intrattenuto. Consigliatissimo .

Dopo circa 6 anni è stato una riconferma: tre sale accoglienti, pietanze (soprattutto a base di tonno) saporite, porzioni abbondanti, gestore "alla mano", prezzi giusti.
