01/12/2024: They only get better. Tops on our list of Lucca favorites. During another month in the city to learn Italian and establish a bit more of a foothold we dined here again and tried even more of Gabrielle's creations. Julia took wonderful care of us, making excellent suggestions including wine. The Asian-fusion character of several of the dishes will break up the Tuscan routine for you. Seafood-centric and imaginative. In a small but tastefully decorated dining room just a street off the Piazza Anfiteatro. This time the specials drew us. A wonderful duck ravioli appealed to the wife. A perfect-sized "salad" of polpo (octopus), mango, pomegranate, herbs, and other ingredients was a revelation. We've tried most of their desserts including a lemon tart but I found a favorite in a pear tortino on a base of salted caramel that knocked it out of the park. This is a must-go if you crave something other than the fiorentino, tordelli, or pizza that are offered aplenty in this lovely city.
