A tasty Catanian souvenir. On Via Santa Filomena, in the beating heart of Catania that never sleeps, lies FUD, a Sicilian shop that has revolutionized the concept of street food. The place is a successful experiment in fusion. The informal spirit of an American pub meets the excellence of local Italian dining. The secret ingredient here is playfulness. The brand plays with the names of its offerings, translating the English "orecchiato" (little ear) into a Sicilian spelling: a brilliant idea to transform an international format into an original identity. We began the evening by indulging in delicious "timekillers" to share. Fried onion rings and a delicious combination of potatoes, onions, and sun-dried tomatoes. All washed down with a Tarì beer, a craft beer from Modica that is not only an expression of the region, but is, above all, an excellent product. The highlight of the evening came with the "burgers": • The unusual Donkey-inspired burger from the Shrek cartoon: a bold mix of donkey meat, smoked buffalo mozzarella, sautéed mushrooms, the sweetness of Giarratana onions, and "barbechiù" sauce, all wrapped up in homemade seeded bread. • The classic beefburger: a double Sicilian beef accompanied by double Madonie provola cheese, a fried organic egg, and the savory flavor of black pig cheek, served in soft, fragrant bread. An evening spent in the spirit of flavor and conviviality, where the quality of the ingredients meets the pleasure of good company.

The food was brilliant! Must try the Smoched and Loaded Fries with Bacon.

Although finding a great burger joint in Italy can be difficult, we finally found the best burger place in Sicily after searching tirelessly and with great appetite. The bread, the meat, and the design of the place are all excellent. Located on Catania's brightest street, it's a food and drink street with something for every palate. I especially recommend exploring this street from beginning to end. 🚶‍♂️🚶‍♀️💡🏮👩‍🍳

The food is excellent thanks to carefully selected ingredients, and the strictly Sicilian beers are well-balanced and perfectly matched to your meal. The guys and girls at Fud are fantastic.
