After many years, I finally plucked up the courage to go into Focacceria Basile, and it was a great experience. Everything was well prepared, using fresh, quality ingredients. The service was friendly and attentive. A true must-try. It gets really crowded at peak times. Recommended.

I think if you want to try authentic Sicilian cuisine, this place is perfect. We went there on the recommendation of several Palermitans, and immediately noticed the lack of tourists queuing, so we knew it was the right place. There's a good reason why Palermitans come here for their lunches, and you'll discover it by trying their dishes. The prices are more than fair: an arancina, a portion of baked anelletti (which was basically enough for two), and two bottles of water for €9... Compliments to all the staff. I hope to visit you again.

Family-style cooking at a very reasonable price. Nothing fancy, but the dishes are hearty, generous, and comforting: just like a traditional home-cooked meal. A good place to enjoy simple, authentic food in a relaxed setting.

A great place for a quick lunch in a more homey, non-restaurant style. They have 3-4 different kinds of pasta to choose from. Vegetarian options are also available (plus, if you ask for cheese-free, they'll make it vegan). Generous portions.

A quaint spot in the center of Palermo. Very affordable and with good food. Worth a visit, especially if you're visiting the place itself. The food is strictly local and well-cooked. Friendly staff. Recommended.

01/05/2026: We had lunch at the restaurant and it was a great experience. We were very lucky because we found room for two even though we hadn't booked! They seated us at a table next to the cellar, where the location and temperature were perfect! The staff was very attentive and friendly. The menu was varied and featured typical local products. Excellent value. Highly recommended.
20/04/2026: A very characteristic location. The appetizers were good and well-prepared, a promising start. Unfortunately, the first courses weren't up to par: flavors were too strong and overpowering, lacking balance. We tried three different ones, and none of them convinced us. Another area that could be improved was the service, which was too rushed: the first courses arrived immediately after the appetizers, making the meal less enjoyable and relaxing.
