Finisterrae In Firenze

Excellent place for lunch and dinner in Florence. The pasta was spectacular, and the waiter Marco's service was unbeatable.

The restaurant is located in the beautiful Piazza Santa Croce. The service was excellent, and Marco was very kind. We had the Florentine steak, which was good value for money.

Roaming the streets of Florence has you parched with sore feet and a grumbling tummy. You gasp with unanticipated delight as you emerge from the alleyway and step into Piazza Santa Croce. The deeply patinated buildings in this piazza attest to the rich history in this city—one of Italy’s finest. Here, in the shadow of the Basilica of Santa Croce, is Finisterrae. Its unassumingly humble facade belies the gastronomical wonders that await you within. Truly delectable culinary creations happen here—the Florentine T-Bone is a prime example. There are seafood options, poultry dishes, pasta plates, and many others to choose from—all are delicious I’m sure. *They seem to have a tendency to undercook steak so request one temp above what you want and you will be happy. Service here is second to none! Marco served our party of 11 with finesse and fashion a plenty. He exemplifies what others in the business should aspire to. Unwaveringly professional, courteous, and polite. His situational awareness keeps him one step ahead so you will never want for anything while you dine. For us he displayed his refined skills as a sommelier by uncorking, aerating, and presenting to us several bottles of fine wine. His knowledge of wine is expansive allowing him to suggest vintages for uncertain oenophiles. Marko is 100% invested in his craft and it shows through as he takes great care to ensure a fine dining experience is had by all. It’s rare to encounter someone who hustles and takes pride in what he does the way Marco does. When in Florence you should dine at Finisterrae and ask for Marko!

Recommended by our tour guide, Finisterrae turned out to be a lovely surprise. We were seated outside with a beautiful view of the nearby church, which was great to look at while waiting for the food. There was no wait, which was a bonus. I ordered the Trofie al Pesto Mediterraneo and it was absolutely delicious! It was fresh, flavorful and perfectly cooked. We finished with a classic tiramisu and an espresso, both of which hit the spot.

We went for lunch with a group of people and were treated very well. The waiters were helpful and attentive, and the pizzas, pasta, salads, and appetizers were spectacular! A good, centrally located place to eat.

A place where they have good quality everything you want to eat in Italy at a good price. Above all, it's a very large place where they serve you super fast. Very nice, I recommend it.

Marco was a wonderful server! Checked in on us multiple times and had wonderful recommendations. Food was amazing!!

Wonderful place for lunch, the pasta was delicious and the service was great. Our server Marco was very friendly and great with our young daughter too. Highly recommend.

Aquí para el almuerzo y el desayuno del día siguiente: todo en este bar / restaurante es delicioso: las entradas para el almuerzo eran muy buenas y las ofertas de desayuno eran geniales. También compramos pasteles para una comida familiar y eran excelentes. Un gran lugar al que queremos volver!

Restaurante bem grande. Para jantar, fomos encaminhados a uma area interna que parecia uma imersao ao Marrocos. Fiquei confusa com essa vibe no meio de Florenca rs, mas haviam me indicado a pizza, e de fato foi excelente!!! Pedi uma entrada de Polenta frita com um molho apimentado muito ruim!! Nao peçam! Foquem na pizza!!
