Ferro di Cavallo In Palermo

We started with pasta and eggplant pasta. Both were cooked perfectly; neither raw nor too soft. The tomatoes were delicious, and the eggplant was very well prepared, soft, and balanced. The use of fennel and currants in the starter pasta added a pleasant aroma, leaving a nice aftertaste without being overwhelming. The fish of the day, despite being a very thin and difficult-to-prepare fish, was cooked quite successfully. Its texture and balance were truly excellent. The calamari was prepared not only with tuna but also stuffed with anchovies, fennel, and the calamari's own flesh. This rich and balanced filling made the dish quite special and delicious. We tried both white and red wine, and both were quite delicious. Overall, it was a thoughtful, creative, and delicious experience. I recommend it. Head waiter! You're amazing!

The eggplant was very good. The seafood pasta was average. The frito misto was not good.

A great place in Palermo to enjoy Sicilian food. A very retro atmosphere with good service. You order on a slip of paper and have to take it to the till to pay. They seated us for lunch at 2:45 pm and gave us a complimentary fritter with rocoto pepper when we paid.

The pasta was home made and tasty, however the portion size for the eggplant pasta was small. Luckily my wife doesn’t eat much, and her sardines was large so I ate half of hers. The Sicilian salad was disappointing, the tomatoes had the consistency of an apple and the capers were canned. €9 for each pasta dish.

Typical dish, warm atmosphere, good value for money. We went there on the recommendation of young women from Palermo. - 1 star ⭐️ Different treatment and welcome depending on the clientele (tourists, men and women) from what appears to be the owner or head waiter. As for the rest of the staff, they are friendly and attentive.

Simple family Trattoria. Very nice people. The inside nothing fancy. Crowded! Try the zuppa mixto di mare. Best soup I've ever had in my life.

The dishes served are excellent, the limoncello a little weak, but that's okay. The service was very fast and friendly. I enjoyed this place until the bill arrived, but not because of the price, but because of the owner's behavior. I was angry because there were a lot of people waiting for a table outside and the place was full. When we went to pay, we were treated arrogantly and rudely, perhaps because we had taken too long to eat, or perhaps I don't know why.
