A historic Roman restaurant.
I gave it three stars only because I think the quality/price ratio is excessive.
The five stars for both service and ambiance are deserved: the staff is extremely friendly, and the place is meticulously maintained.
It's certainly a place that's part of Rome's history, but perhaps I wouldn't recommend it as a must-eat if you're only in the city for a few days.

The food here is good - nothing special and certainly not worth the high prices. Polpette, amacitriciana and chicken were all fine, salad, verdure and potatoes were just fine. You can absolutely find the same dishes half the price elsewhere in Rome, including the nearby market. I was shocked that our bill came to 80 euros. Service was curt, disinterested and generally seemed resentful of customers, in fact they brought us the wrong chicken dish but we didn’t think it was worth it to catch their attention and change it. They seem to be relying on their historical reputation in the rione but there are much better choices nearby.

A welcoming restaurant with a high-quality menu.
However, the service was quite poor and disorganized. Tables that were seated after we were already being served arrived, even though we hadn't even ordered yet. After complaining, the appetizers arrived, and the first course was served quickly without clearing the appetizer plates (there was almost no space on the table)... Continuing to wait about 45 minutes for the second course, we had to go back and complain, and once again it arrived immediately.
In short, the food was good, but the service was terrible.
P.S. There were tables that arrived later, ate, paid, and even the appetizers hadn't arrived yet.

One of the best dinners we ate in Italy. Fantastic food. I know that waiters in Italy have to be called over and they’re not always atentative. However, our waiter seemed to intentionally. Ignore me when I called him over to the table. I did believe other waiters took care of their tables better. I would still absolutely recommend recommended that you eat at this restaurant. The food iwas amazing. We sat outside and it was fully enclosed, (and even though it was cold and windy outside), it was warm with a beautiful atmosphere.

We managed to get a table on a busy Friday, despite not booking ahead any more than 2 hrs.
We kept our order simple, choosing 2 Roman pasta classics: Carbonara & Cacio Pepe, and a standard Tiramisu for dessert. All 3 dishes were excellent.
The recommended dry white wine was also perfect, the right amount of acidity to compliment these rich dishes. Staff & management were also very charming and efficient.
We left feeling that the ongoing reputation of this local institution was indeed worthy.
Despite the cold weather, we didn't mind being seated in the covered/heated external space, it was perfectly comfortable. In fact, there was more space than inside the restaurant, where it looked rather densely packed.

My partner and I had lunch here. I had cacio e pepe and he had carbonara. Everything was excellent, the service was friendly and attentive, and the prices were reasonable for the place. Highly recommended!

The food was good and well-presented, but the bread was of poor quality (not good, especially for us Romans, who are used to eating a lot of it in restaurants). The side dishes were overpriced: €10 for an artichoke is outrageous. I hope they're delicious, but at that price, I refused to order one. Overall, it's too expensive for a trattoria.
