Felice In Roma

I dined at Felice in Testaccio during a visit to Rome, and the overall experience was very positive. The restaurant has an authentic and lively atmosphere, typical of historic Roman trattorias, with professional and attentive service. The highlight was undoubtedly the cacio e pepe, prepared tableside: creamy, flavorful, and perfectly balanced. The other traditional Roman dishes were also well-executed and made with quality ingredients. I give it four stars because, despite the excellent food, the prices are a bit high compared to other Roman trattorias, and the place can be quite noisy when full. Overall, however, it remains a very good place for those who want to experience authentic Roman cuisine in one of the city's most characteristic neighborhoods.

Historic restaurant in Rome! Recommendation

This place was recommended to us by a local and then confirmed by another one as the best restaurant in Rome to eat carbonara. Being huge fans of the dish we ran there ... for a little bit of a disappointment unfortunately. Sorry but we had eaten the pasta on various occasions before and it had tasted way better. We'd tried it in Rome as well but also in Florence or Sicilly. Honestly, I would not come back here. The place is well taken care of, very neat with good service. Howerever , it seemed a bit stiff and lacked cosiness. Aperol spritz was also not the best one.

Restaurant, because it can no longer be called a trattoria, very famous in Rome for its cacio e pepe. The marketing strategy is to distinguish itself from the usual home-style trattorias with checkered tablecloths, and this quality is reflected in the atmosphere and in the bill. There is no house wine and the wine list is extensive, but there is no bottle of red for less than €30, which I must say is increasingly common elsewhere. The menu is rich and classic. Excellent eggplant roulade, excellent puntarelle, creamy carbonara and crispy bacon, the rigatoni al dente on the inside but perhaps, I'm not sure, precooked, as it is slightly rubbery on the outside. The cacio e pepe, as per tradition, is very rich and delicious. The sliced ​​beef is also good. It certainly remains a point of reference for tourists and others who want guaranteed quality Roman cuisine with a less homey and noisy atmosphere.

The place is small and a bit crowded, with tables and chairs everywhere, taking up every inch of space. The service is friendly, but you have to be careful: the rush, anxiety, and haste to choose are all there when ordering. First courses: carbonara AMAZING, carbonara with artichokes, mmmm not to my taste, the sauce too bland. Eggplant parmigiana AMAZING, amazing, supplì too, artichokes mmmm, so-so. Main courses are nothing special, especially the lamb and potatoes, which are good, but the saltimbocca, I'd say not at all. Excellent wine list.

I've been wanting to go for a long time, and I have to say it was a great experience. The first courses were delicious, especially the amatriciana. The meatballs in tomato sauce are truly amazing...really delicious! Fast service and friendly waiters. Prices aren't exactly affordable, but it's worth trying at least once.

This semi-elegant restaurant has its ups and downs. The amatriciana wasn't well-executed (soggy pork cheek, sour tomato, barely any pepper, and pecorino cheese). It's forgettable compared to many other places in Rome.

A classic in the Testacio neighborhood that leaves no one indifferent. The place is beautiful and tastefully decorated, the atmosphere is calm despite being full, the staff is very attentive, professional, friendly and nice. Very well prepared Italian cuisine with good presentation where you can find the typical dishes of their gastronomy. They also have a terrace protected from the inclement weather. We liked everything very much including the dessert: the spectacular tiramisu. On the downside, the wine list is very expensive. You have to book as it is usually full. Not suitable for all budgets but still very worth it. What are you waiting for?
