We came to Felice a Testaccio on the recommendation of one of the managers at Uovo in Los Angeles, who told us that their tiramisu was inspired by this restaurant in Milan / Rome. We first visited the Milan location at the end of our wedding trip two years ago, and when we returned this year, it did not disappoint. In fact, it may have been even better than we remembered.
One thing we appreciated was the flexibility with our lunch reservation. We were able to be seated midday without issue, though reservations are strongly encouraged and seem essential during busier times.
We also enjoyed that the restaurant offers different daily specials throughout the week. On the Tuesday we visited, there was a seafood special that sounded excellent, but not quite enough to tempt us away from the Roman classics we came for.
We shared the cacio e pepe and the amatriciana, and both were excellent. The portions were generous and very filling, the pasta was cooked perfectly al dente, and the flavors were outstanding. The service was attentive and welcoming, and the atmosphere was calm and relaxed. On a Tuesday afternoon, we found ourselves surrounded by locals enjoying business lunches, which added to the authentic feel of the experience.
Overall, it was a wonderful escape from the hustle and bustle of Milan and a restaurant that more than lived up to our memories. If you’re a fan of Uovo in Los Angeles, you’ll almost certainly love Felice a Testaccio.

A nice, well-maintained, and trendy place.
Despite a reservation, we still had to wait for our table to be prepared once we arrived.
The dishes, while good, were served and collected with the rush of someone eager to get rid of you, so much so that we asked if they could take away our appetizer while we were still finishing it!
In short, a nice place and good food, but avoid if you want a 2-3 hour dinner without constant interruptions from the wait staff.

If you're craving well-made Roman cuisine, Felice in Testaccio is a guarantee. I tried it years ago, pre-Covid, and it's now a regular stop. Unfortunately, the prices are more Milanese than Roman.
We started with appetizers: tender and flavorful Roman-style artichokes, I think the best I've ever eaten, fresh and crispy puntarelle, and since it was Friday, fish day, light and dry fried anchovies—you can't go wrong.
Then the carbonara: a generous portion, perfectly creamy, and truly satisfying.
But the real surprise was the lamb: a spectacle. Tender, flavorful, perfectly cooked. One of those dishes that makes you want to return just for it.
Elegant and refined atmosphere, quick and no-frills service.
In short: Rome in Milan, done right.

The food was very good, except for the carbonara, which I didn't like at all, even though the waiter recommended it. With such lovely weather, it was a shame to eat there because it's a very dark place. But it was fine.

I had dinner with friends at this restaurant, and I must say we were very pleased with the atmosphere, the friendly waiters, and the quality and abundance of the food. They also have a good wine cellar with a wide variety, and the prices were commensurate with the location, the quality of the service, and the ingredients.

Bucatini amatriciana. I've had better and cheaper ones. But...it's okay.
