In December 2024, we were looking for a nice place for dinner and, by pure chance, we discovered "El Fornel." How lucky! We enjoyed fresh, freshly prepared dishes, accompanied by excellent wine and friendly, attentive service. Everything tasted authentically like home cooking, and was truly delicious. We'll definitely be back next time we're in Trieste!

A quaint restaurant, its strong point: a limited menu, thus guaranteeing freshness and quality, served simply and authentically. I couldn't resist ordering a second helping of spaghetti. Highly recommended.

24/02/2026: Our favorite place, we feel at home here. A welcoming and very well-kept place. The staff—there's no word to describe it—are attentive to every request, friendly, kind, and above all, always smiling. The cuisine is special, with fresh seafood, and it shows in every dish the chef prepares. A wide selection of wines, from local classics to those from beyond the region. The bar is well-stocked with every spirit. I recommend going because your taste buds deserve it.
22/02/2026: The atmosphere was lovely, and both terraces overlooked their respective harbors: the local harbor and the industrial port. The food was good (after a 1.5-hour wait, it tasted great!), and the antipasto platter was excellent. I didn't realize that in Italy, one of two glasses of wine could be undrinkable and the next not very good. The service was okay, not impolite, but a bit rough around the edges – perhaps the local culture has rubbed off on them.
