After visiting the splendid Estense Castle, we stopped at this restaurant located right at the exit. I admit: given its central location, I was afraid it would be a tourist trap, but it was a delightful surprise. ​The restaurant is beautiful, well-kept, and has a fantastic outdoor terrace with a view. The atmosphere is truly pleasant, but the food deserves special mention: the food is truly delicious, and the prices are absolutely reasonable for the area. We tried the pasticcio ferrarese salato (an exceptional traditional dish) and a classic lasagna, both beautifully prepared and flavorful. An excellent stop for those seeking quality just steps from the monument. ​A special mention goes to the welcome: Alessia was truly kind and professional, an added bonus for the restaurant.

Very nice location in the castle square. Average value for money. The service is forgettable, apart from the slowness, which isn't justified in a restaurant that's not packed. However, when you bring a salad to the table, you can't bring the dressing after 20 minutes. The second bottle of water, ordered to finish the meal, arrived when everything was already cold, despite a couple of reminders. If I ever return to Bologna, I definitely won't eat here again.

Interesting place for the view of the Castle. Good food, but service is a bit slow. Prices are reasonable, except for the coffee...€2.70...really too much...

Stopped on April 18, 2026, on a group outing. A friend and I went to this highly prestigious business and location for a drink. Service was courteous and professional.

The place is located in the most beautiful square in the city, offering stunning views of the magnificent Estense Castle, a truly spectacular setting. I highly recommend sitting outside, where the staff, especially the very kind Alessia, will courteously welcome you to comfortable seats. The products offered are all top-quality, and thanks to Alessia's expertise and attentiveness, the tasting experience becomes even more enjoyable and meticulously crafted.

Very nice restaurant/pastry shop on the square next to the D'Este Palace. Large selection of cakes and pleasant ambiance. Closed terrace is ideal for rainy days. Recommendation
