Dreher Ristorante Pizzeria In Taranto

I wanted to try the panzerotti again, after a few years, from this historic restaurant. I still remember the exceptional panzerotti I tasted 50 years ago when the restaurant was located in Via D'Aquino on the corner of Piazza Immacolata, in a unique flavor and consistency, with their particular tapered shape. I also bought them later in Via Cesare Battisti, still very good but not as good as the first ones, until a few years ago when the pizza chef changed due to retirement. The panzerotti are completely different and not for the better, and the ones I bought yesterday are, let's say, average. Certainly the shape and appearance are completely different, and for me they are certainly not inviting, but the flavor is not bad.

I had a dream about Martians, I told the owner about it, and what did he do? He made me a pizza called "flying saucer." It was a fantastic experience, the pizza is definitely worth making again and delicious, thanks Francesco, always the same. PS: Next time I'll tell you about another dream and we'll see what you come up with 😄😉😉👍👍💪💪

Another historic location in the city, located just outside the city center on the busy Via Cesare Battisti. The pizzeria offers a wide range of good-quality pizza products, including excellent mozzarella in carrozza. The location is welcoming with plenty of seating, and the service is also decent. The prices are reasonable, offering excellent value.

Let me start by saying that the panzerotti are delicious, both fried and baked. Now... the pizzas... the dough is VERY HEAVY, zero leavening... the ingredients are low-quality... the fries... every single time, for the past 5 years, there hasn't been a single time they've arrived hot (we're 30 seconds from the pizzeria). The only reason we continue to order is the delivery time, which is quite fast. If it weren't for that, we'd order elsewhere, where they actually use quality ingredients.
