18/04/2025: Rooster Café – Florence, IT
American vibes with a local soul
If you’re strolling through Florence and looking for a brunch spot that blends American-style comfort food with a sprinkle of local Italian charm, Rooster Café is a solid bet—but be ready to wait.
We arrived to find a long line outside. Heads up: they don’t take reservations, so it’s first come, first served. We waited around 50 minutes before we were seated. The place itself isn’t big, but it has a cozy, laid-back atmosphere that makes the wait a little more bearable.
The menu is impressively varied, leaning heavily into American brunch staples while still offering some Italian options here and there. We ordered a bit of everything: a Latte, American Coffee, Detox Smoothie, the English Breakfast, and the showstopper—“Stoners” (waffles, chicken, guac, bacon, eggs, and cheese). Everything hit the spot. Flavors were solid—I’d rate the food an 8 out of 10. Not mind-blowing, but definitely satisfying and well-executed.
Portions are generous, so come hungry. Service was super quick once we got in, and our waitress was incredibly friendly and attentive—shoutout to her for keeping things flowing smoothly.
The bathrooms were clean, which honestly says a lot about how they run the place, and even as we left, the line outside hadn’t let up. That’s usually a good sign.
Bottom line: If you’re cool with waiting a bit and craving a hearty, American-style brunch in Florence, Rooster Café is worth the hype. Great service, tasty dishes, and a chill vibe once you’re inside. Just get there early or be ready to queue—because you won’t be the only one trying to get in.
