Dimora Ulmo In Matera

I came here for my honeymoon and had dinner with my wife. The food and service were excellent, and it was a wonderful way to end our wonderful time in Matera.

A tasting experience to be had. It delights the palate and the eyes with the sight of the dishes and a fantastic glimpse of the Sassi.

We have been here twice; one time during lunch and another during dinner seated in the same spot (which I find the best spot), by the windows where you can appreciate the panoramic view of Matera. Dinner is a more romantic feel, but both times equally lovely. Wine list was like a book; so extensive! Dishes were delicious, and makes you so full so best to pace. The servers are knowledgeable about every dish. We loved this place so much, that it was the first that came to mind when helping out a friend plan his proposal. Beautiful memories in a beautiful place.

We dined at Dimora Ulmo on Saturday evening, and it was an absolutely memorable experience. Despite the stormy weather and the terrace closure (professionally announced in advance), we kept our reservation—and what an excellent decision! We were the only table in the lineup and were treated with impeccable attention. The maître d'hôtel, both professional and warm, expertly guided us throughout the meal. We chose the six-course Contamination menu, accompanied by appetizers and petits fours: each plate showcased the magnificent products of this region of Italy, enhanced with modernity and creativity. The flavors were remarkably intense, and the wine pairing was remarkably refined. Everything was truly perfect, from the service to the cuisine. A huge thank you to the entire team: this dinner will remain a wonderful gastronomic memory!

We dined in the splendid setting of the Sassi di Matera, choosing the "Dimora Ulmo Menu" tasting menu, which allowed us to discover and appreciate the dishes offered by this excellent restaurant. Although it doesn't yet have a Michelin star, it holds its own against other starred restaurants we've tried around Italy. The real strength, beyond the location—which in itself is worth choosing for a romantic dinner in Matera—is the attention to detail and refinement of the dishes. Each course offers unique pairings, in which each ingredient plays its part: from the tartest to the sweetest notes, perfectly balanced in an explosion of flavor and a wealth of original and well-executed combinations. The service was also excellent, with the utmost attention to detail. The maître d', always present but never intrusive, managed to convey emotion and passion for his work. The wine cellar was well-stocked and carefully selected; we particularly appreciated the champagne pairing, which perfectly complemented the entire dinner. I highly recommend this restaurant to anyone who wants to experience innovative cuisine in a unique setting like the Sassi di Matera. Compliments to the chefs and all the staff: I'm sure we'll find a star on our next visit.

Sehr schönes, stilvolles und gehobenes Ambiente. Hervorragende Küche, die traditionelle Gerichte gelungen interpretiert. Sehr gute Weinauswahl und sehr freundlicher Service.

Everything is great, it is (very) out of place to allow customers to smoke outside.

Wonderful dinner on the terrace overlooking the Sassi di Matera. The setting alone was worth the price of the ticket. We opted for the contamination menu with wine tasting. The dishes followed one another, surprising us more and more each time with the quality of the execution and the creativity. I asked if possible to taste mainly local wines and I was satisfied by the very kind Maitre Francesco Russo. I was also surprised by an excellent local beer that did not look bad in the slightest compared to the wines. When they discovered through conversation that we were from Modena we were welcomed like old friends (all the staff being of the "Modena school" of the Osteria Francescana). We met and appreciated the two chefs Virginia Caravita and Michele Castelli. We entered a classy restaurant with a wonderful view and we left with the pleasant feeling of having discovered something unique with the scent of home. Recommended recommended recommended.

Mi esposa y yo tuvimos un menú degustación de 5 platos con maridaje de vinos y la comida y el servicio fue de los mejores que hemos disfrutado en cualquier parte del mundo. Francesco y Anna nos miraban muy bien. Francesco es uno de los propietarios y un sumiller y proporcionó información detallada sobre los vinos locales de Apulia y Basiliciata, así como recomendaciones para experiencias gastronómicas excelentes en otras ciudades de Apulia. El vino blanco y los dos tintos Aglianico eran excelentes! El restaurante se encuentra en el casco antiguo de Matera con una espectacular terraza y vistas. Para la buena comida Michelin, el precio era muy razonable y lo recomendaría encarecidamente.
