A restaurant not far from the University for Foreigners. The atmosphere is very rustic, perhaps a little dark, but it's reminiscent of an old-fashioned tavern. The only fixed-price menu option (€18 + drinks) for both lunch and dinner varies depending on the day of the week. It includes an appetizer, two first courses, a generous second course with side dish, and dessert. Affordable in a city that, especially in the historic center, is not, but perhaps at the expense of quality. Overall, I would recommend it.

We had a fixed menu dinner for 18 euros. We were very pleased with both the portions and the overall service. The roast potatoes were superb.

€18 menu: appetizers, two first courses, a second course with side dish, wine, water, coffee, dessert, and liqueur... it's all real! A fixed menu that changes daily (except for the legendary daily macaroni, delicious and handmade), very fast and friendly service, a traditional and welcoming atmosphere. Generous portions and a truly remarkable house wine. If you want to eat well and traditionally, without spending a fortune, this is the place for you!

I really like the idea of the fixed menu, the old-fashioned way, or as they say in Venetian, "ciapa, magna e tasi." The cuisine is simple, no-frills, but sincere. At the beginning, they ask you about allergies or intolerances right away, and then we realized that other tables were served with vegetarian and gluten-free options: greatly appreciated! We received four courses, of which we especially enjoyed the meat (Saturday evening, roast chicken, pork, and lamb). Two first courses were overly generous but still tasty (pappardelle with wild boar and tagliatelle with tomato and basil). The focaccia and dessert were almost extra. You have to arrive at the restaurant hungry to tackle it all. The restaurant itself is beautiful, with its exposed brick vaults. It's a shame about the background noise when there are a lot of people. Recommended.

The "Mi Cocco" restaurant is a culinary institution in the heart of Perugia, located on Via Garibaldi, a stone's throw from Piazza Grimana and the University for Foreigners. It's the place where Umbrian cuisine strips away all formality to return to its most genuine and convivial essence. Here's a summary of what makes it unique: The Experience and the Cuisine Forget the à la carte menu: at Mi Cocco, you eat whatever the convent has to offer. The format is a fixed seasonal menu that changes weekly (one for weekdays and one for the weekend), strictly based on rural tradition. • Highlights: Homemade pasta (often flans or tagliatelle), roast meats, garden vegetable side dishes, and the inevitable dessert to finish. • Atmosphere: Rustic decor, wooden tables, and quick, informal service reminiscent of Sunday family lunches. For Tourists Trivia and Historical Notes The Name: "Mi Cocco" isn't just a term of endearment. In the Perugian dialect, "cocco" is an affectionate term used for children or loved ones. The name immediately evokes a sense of welcome and protection, almost as if one's grandmother were cooking. The restaurant is located in rooms that exude history, characterized by brick vaults and stone walls that were part of the medieval fabric of the Porta Sant'Angelo district. A few steps from the restaurant, going up the street, is one of Italy's oldest treasures: the Temple of Sant'Angelo (5th century AD). It is a circular early Christian church, built on the site of an ancient Roman temple. Its circular shape and the reclaimed columns inside create an almost mystical atmosphere. Along the street, you'll also find the San Matteo degli Armeni complex, now home to a municipal library specializing in peace and nonviolence. It's a place of extraordinary peace, famous for its urban garden and the view from its walls. If you walk all the way up the street, you'll reach the majestic Porta Sant'Angelo, which today houses the City Walls Museum. From its summit, you can enjoy one of the most beautiful views of Perugia's rooftops and the Umbrian valley.

Just like it used to be! Both for the food and the price. Rustic, traditional cuisine in a warm, osteria-like setting in the center of Pg. Appetizer, two first courses, second course, side dish, and dessert: a fixed menu that always varies for €18! House wine 7% off a bottle! I don't think it gets any better!

We had dinner last night. The menu is fixed and costs 18 euros per person (drinks not included). The dishes change daily. Yesterday, which was Friday, the menu was: an appetizer of three focaccias (tomato, potato, and onion, delicious!!). Two first courses: yesterday they had square soup with chickpeas and homemade tagliatelle with tomato and basil sauce. Everything was excellent. The second course was fried chicken and mixed salad, followed by vin santo with tozzetti, also homemade. The staff was very kind and attentive. We had told them we would be coming with my dog, Olivia, and they were very kind to her too. Everything was truly excellent: food, service, and attention. Highly recommended!!!
