Excellent restaurant, beautiful location, and good food! We had two exceptional meals; I recommend the Chianina ragù and the Tuscan ragù. We were warmly welcomed; we felt right at home! Good value for money. A restaurant not to be missed!

Our local friend told us this was the best restaurant in Castiglione del Lago, and after dinner here, I completely understand why. We started with the house red wine, a blend of Sangiovese, Merlot, and Cabernet Sauvignon. It was outstanding, especially for a house wine, and paired beautifully with the meal. For our primi, I ordered the Pici all'Aglione and my wife had the Gnocchetti al Ragù. Both were excellent, but the gnocchetti was our favorite dish of the evening. For our secondo, we shared the meatballs, which were tender, flavorful, and perfectly cooked. Dessert was the perfect ending to the meal. We ordered the Cantucci e Vin Santo, and dipping the biscuits into the Vin Santo was a wonderful experience. It was easily one of the highlights of the night. The value here is exceptional. We spent about €30 per person for a complete dinner with drinks, and the quality easily exceeded the price. The service was just as impressive as the food. Our server spoke excellent English, patiently helped me practice my Italian when I asked, and even shared recommendations for places to visit around the region. Everyone made us feel genuinely welcome. If you're visiting Castiglione del Lago, Trattoria dal Castiglionese is absolutely worth a visit. We would happily come back the next time we're in the area.

Very welcoming place, the people were very kind and helpful, especially the girl taking orders and the guy at the cash register. We had dinner the first weekend in June. The food was very good and the service was quick.

We went for lunch. The place is small but very welcoming, with young but efficient staff. The appetizer is highly recommended. We had the wild boar and liver, which were very good. I recommend the tiramisu. We'll definitely be back.

Simply exquisite. The dishes are simple and traditional, yet flavorful and balanced. The young staff is extremely kind and attentive. There isn't a single dish I wouldn't return for. Well done!

Unusual hospitality and service: genuine, unpretentious courtesy (something not to be taken for granted and much appreciated), in a welcoming and clean restaurant. A well-stocked menu and more than fair prices (even more so considering the size of the dishes). The quality of the dishes was highly appreciated (mixed crostini appetizer, ribollita, gnocchi with white Chianina beef ragu, red wine): we allowed ourselves to mop up the bread and compliment the chefs. Excellent, friendly, honest. 👍
