Da Zia Katia In Messina

Dinner with friends... the place is very nice and clean, it is located in the historic center of Messina, via Primo Settembre... expectations were high from the reviews read on the web. We ordered skewers of both beef and pork chops, 24 rolls in total for a price of €32. I'm not discussing the price seen on the menu but the size is the taste (in my opinion) the beef ones are very dry.. better are the pork ones which are moister inside... the menu highlights that the rolls are served with salad and chips, (a tuft of songino and lettuce, and about ten potatoes) a platter of excellent quality cured meats and cheeses €16 in my opinion overpriced..pizza with bresaola and rocket (excellent bresaola), excellent tomato, but the dough was a consistent mix which overall I quite liked but didn't convince me.. very friendly and helpful staff, the service was very quick, but at the same time they respected the times between the starters and the rest of the courses, overall (in my opinion) the prices of what we consumed are not related to portion sizes. I don't doubt it, being aware of the management costs and raw materials of a restaurant in the centre.. but this is what I think. However, we will return for the fish which, in the opinion of those who have tried it, is of high quality.

One of the places where I've ever eaten better, everything was really good and cared for, generous portions, fish really excellent both in flavor and cooking. You won't be disappointed.

Small restaurant located in the center of Messina. The home cooking is good, although lately I haven't been very happy, I've noticed little attention paid to the preparation of the first courses. The dishes are freshly prepared and served in an aluminum pan. This is the characteristic of the place. Prices are a little high compared to the city average, perhaps due to the central and tourist location. The portions are quite large and the ingredients cooked according to Sicilian tradition. Courteous staff.

Nice place behind the cathedral, good food, something really worthy of note like the maccheroncini alla norma, the maccheroncini with meatballs and the swordfish chops, other good dishes but nothing exceptional (in my opinion). I would make a note on the service, in the sense that the staff was certainly polite, but courtesy and kindness are something else.

Very delicious pasta, al dente. Generous quantities at a good price. It took them a long time to serve us, that was the only downside.

Brocheta tremenda y servicio muy simpático y atento. Disfrutamos de una brocheta (creo que frita) con un sabor y textura original. Además, la pizza de mortadela y pistacho está espectacular.
