We were warmly welcomed, the staff were very friendly, the pizza was good, and the price was fair. The fried food needs to be revisited, but that might have been a fluke.

I had a good experience at Da Zia Katia. We ordered frittura di pesce, antipasto casereccio, cozze e vongole. Everything was really delicious, however the grilled octopus wasn't grilled totally cold. The waitress was a little busy but very attentive.

A truly positive experience. The staff were welcoming and the restaurant was clean. We ordered different starters (carbonara, spaghetti with mussels and clams, paccheri dello Strait) and meat and fish chops...everything was simply excellent. I also asked for something off the menu for my daughter (meatballs in tomato sauce), and they accommodated me without a problem. Highly recommended.

The place is quiet and welcoming. It's almost in the center of Messina. The owner is very attentive to her customers. The food is delicious. The service is very fast. The mixed fish, available upon request, is delicious. The pasta with zucchini and pork cheek (gluten-free) is flavorful and delicious. Served in its original pan-fried form. The swordfish skewer makes our mouths water just looking at it. I recommend everyone to stop by and try it. A must-see.

21/10/2025: We visited this little wine bar twice as we liked it. The first time we had the delicious Etna wine with a cheese & olive board. The second time we had afternoon cocktails. It's a quiet little bar on a busy walkway. The staff were friendly and service was good.
15/10/2025: This place is spectacular. I’m a noted critic and have taken a lot of pleasure reading the reviews and the cheeky responses from the owner on Google about this place. Honestly, I think someone has a personal vendetta against this place because it is truly delightful. Super cute, great service, tasty light bites. All the whining about prices is so confusing because the prices are consistent with everything in the neighborhood. Give this place a shot. It rocks.

Ristorante La Forgia Maurizio

11/10/2025: Maurizio was very kind and welcoming. The caponata was the best I've tasted in the Aeolian Islands, and the stuffed squid with sauce was wonderful! Thank you.
05/10/2025: For the owner alone this restaurant is worth a visit. Such a lovely and engaging man, who spoke Italian, English and German with us. The food is delicious and though on the pricier side, portion size and quality justify it. We had the best seafood noodles here. (Sadly I only have a photo of the empty shells)
