Stunning location overlooking the Etna forests. Mount Etna in the background adds an extra touch. The staff is kind, friendly, and knowledgeable. Honorable mention for the quality of the food, especially the croquettes, the trofie with pistachio pesto, and the apple cake with orange oil. Highly recommended!

Excellent restaurant! It perfectly represents the cuisine of eastern Sicily and Etna. Special mention for the charcuterie and cheese platter, with a wide variety of jams to pair with the cheeses. Excellent quality food. Excellent service, excellent chef.

What can I say? Everything was perfect. We were greeted with a smile and treated with kid gloves throughout the meal. The atmosphere is relaxed yet refined, and the food is out of this world. 11/10/2025: I've been coming to Catania for work for five years, and Taverna del Grande Albero is a regular stop. First of all, I find quality and courtesy here, but above all, I feel like I'm at home. The owners have become like family to me. I GO TO FILIPPO'S, I say every time!!!! Always friendly, always hospitable, they never fail to chat with the customers, and I highly recommend it!! I've attached photos so you can fully understand my satisfaction. I'm sorry I didn't take a picture of the spectacular seafood appetizer!
