Da Pepèn In Parma

A gastronomic classic for those visiting Parma for the first time (and for those who then return to Pepen).

It was absolutely delicious. It was a bit noisy due to the large crowd and pigeons in front, but the food was excellent. The artitocs and truffle sandwich were delicious. I also ordered a glass of Procheco, and luckily, they poured a new bottle for me right away.

For those unfamiliar with it and visiting Parma for the first time, it's a must-see, just steps from the Duomo and Piazza Garibaldi. This unique sandwich shop is rooted in Parma's tradition. Among the most popular dishes are the panino con cavallo pesto, artichoke, and panino con carne al cavallo.

I've been to this place and I have to say they truly make the best sandwiches in Parma! The sandwiches are incredibly rich and incredibly tasty, with top-quality ingredients that you can taste from the first bite. The place is often packed, a sign that it's very popular (and rightfully so!), but despite the crowds, the staff is always friendly and helpful. It's definitely worth returning—perhaps choosing a quieter time—because the quality and flavor of the sandwiches are truly worth the wait! 🥪👏

The key to their success lies in the impeccable freshness of their ingredients and their attention to detail: the bread, always warm and crispy, perfectly enhances every combination. The menu offers a wide range of delicious combinations, each more delicious than the last, sure to please every palate. For those seeking an authentic and daring experience, I highly recommend trying the house specialties: the horsemeat pesto sandwich and the one with raw sausage. They are, in my opinion, the restaurant's flagship, offering an indescribable and unique flavor. Despite the inevitable long wait due to the popularity of the place, the experience is well worth it. A must-see for anyone visiting Parma.

Authentic street food, very tasty and quickly prepared. The prices are within the expected range for tourists, although a larger portion would have been even better!
