Very nice restaurant! 🥰 I've had calamari fritti in many places, but this is the best ever! I can only recommend it. We also had black mussels, which were also incredibly delicious. The lady is nice, lively, attentive, funny. We had a great time. If we are in Trieste again, we will definitely stop by here ❤️ I wholeheartedly recommend it to everyone!

Good service and good meal using fresh seafood. Just be aware, as others have said, that menu options change based on what fresh seafood is available that day, so not everything is on offer. (For example, in my case for a late-August dinner, I had to choose from 4 starters, 3 first courses, and 0 second courses.)

19/06/2025: Delicious pasta and focaccia. It's on the main street, but still recommended. Good white wine.
18/06/2025: Many restaurants in Trieste have a strange habit (from a non-Italian perspective) of working short hours in the morning, taking a long break during the day, and working evenings. In other words, at approximately 3 PM you don't have many options and you go to whichever restaurant is open. That is the main reason we chose this restaurant. The pizza we ate was okay, but nothing to write home about (the crust was almost tasteless, and the toppings weren't made from the best ingredients, especially the mozzarella cheese). The service was okay but nothing fancy, and the overall experience was: "it was okay, but..."

Trattoria Alla Valle

11/01/2026: Seafood restaurant. We had a wonderful meal, with incredibly fresh fish and homemade pasta. Everything was delicious, from appetizers to dessert. Highly recommended, don't miss it.
25/12/2025: Nice little cozy restaurant in the heart of Trieste. Not many tables but full of charm. Food was fresh, rich and amazing. Also the house wine was good too. Service was friendly and fast. We will come back for sure!
