Especially these days, it's very difficult to combine three generations in a provincial restaurant, but there are those who have succeeded! I've known the place (a trattoria, then a restaurant) since the 1990s. The only common thread is the quality and authenticity of the products on the menu. Once upon a time, a plate of pasta, macaroni, umbrichelle, puff pastry, strictly handmade, flour, eggs, water, a pinch of salt, as per Umbrian tradition. Today, a first course worthy of the name! A second course, a side dish, and so on, including wine, water, a tablecloth (certainly not made of TNT), and everything else needed to ensure the customer enjoys a pleasant moment in life in absolute harmony with the food, all while always pampered by a skilled and professional service aimed at maximizing the exaltation of the culinary art, an art which, not coincidentally, is expressed by a wise woman and a chef who graduated from the Orvieto hotel school with excellent grades.

Does everything work here? Yes, it's all super! Futuristic cellar! Here you can find niche wines that don't comply with EEC standards, made by courageous winemakers who still dare to dream. This must be given credit to those who manage wine with dedication and passion (increasingly rare today). What about the dishes? Seasonal, high-quality raw materials. Simplicity of flavors served with absolute expertise and hints of creativity... what more could you want in a lunch/dinner? When you get up from the table and ask yourself if you enjoyed it? And you answer yes, you did.

A hidden gem in the Umbrian countryside
I almost drove right past it. From the road, Ristorante Da Gregorio looks like a modest little pizzeria tucked into the countryside — and what a mistake that first impression turned out to be.
We put ourselves entirely in the hands of the chef and our waiter, Davide, and it was one of the best decisions of our trip. The rabbit ravioli was mind-blowing — genuinely one of those dishes you keep thinking about days later. Every other plate that followed was just as good, paired beautifully with wonderful wines.
It was so good that we came back the very next evening. That tells you everything.
If you find yourself anywhere near this corner of Umbria, do not judge this place from the outside. Trust the kitchen, trust Davide, and let them take care of you. Grazie!

A wonderful dining experience! Elevated traditional cuisine prepared with high-quality ingredients, full of authentic flavors and attention to detail. The service was genuinely excellent—warm, professional, and welcoming throughout the entire meal.
We visited with our two children (3 and 5 years old) and felt truly welcome. The staff were kind and accommodating, making it an enjoyable experience for the whole family.
If you’re near Orvieto and looking for refined local cuisine with outstanding hospitality, this place is absolutely worth a visit.

A place steeped in ancient traditions, yet still boasting modern cuisine.
The service makes you feel cared for without being overbearing.
A big shout-out to the sommelier who accompanied us throughout the dinner;
I recommend trusting him completely with the wine selection.
The Pantelleria-inspired dessert is unforgettable.
It's the perfect place to indulge in a culinary experience of original flavors and a breathtaking view.
We'll be back!

The cuisine is top-notch (the suckling pig in maple syrup is a must-try), the wine list is packed with gems, and the service is truly impeccable. Davide served us with courtesy and attention; in short, it's a place I'd return to every week if I lived in Orvieto. If I really had to nitpick, rereading the bill, I think the three desserts we ordered were perhaps not worth €36; a very odd price compared to the rest of the menu, where the value for money is absurdly good.
Otherwise, highly recommended!
