A great place for family and friends to eat together. Wonderful welcome and service. Some of the best food we had in Bologna.. Which is saying something considering the quality of most places is good to start with. Amazing wine selection. Book ahead or go later, it's busy for a good reason.

An authentic Italian trattoria with a great choice of freshly prepared food and classic wines

ABSOLUTELY UNFORGETTABLE! MUST DINE HERE. FYI - reservations are a MUST. This place fills up quick (and now we know why). We arrived approx 7:30pm for our first dinner and greeted by Riccardo who was a ball of energy, so nice, so happy ! Ric told us they were booked out until around 9, come back. No stress, few drinks at a local bar and we came back. (Upon arrival the 2nd time a family came out and all said “worth the wait” …. Now we were very excited). We sit down and order our food (menu is quite extensive). We asked our waiter for recommendations on food and wine pairing. AMAZING. Genuine food!! Real flavours, authentic and home made pastas. Absolutely delicious cuisine. More importantly - my wife has anaphylaxis to nuts - they went above and beyond to ensure she was safe to eat here (which means more to us than the service or food). Fortunately they only use 1 nut on desert, and their service and food was second to none. Adrian was our waiter, spoke great English (we are from Australia) - he was incredible, service was amazing and information on food was very in depth. After our three courses and a few wines, we almost rolled out of the venue (so full) thanking everyone on our way for an amazing dinner. But we did NOT Make the mistake we made the first time …..and we made a reservation before we left! Our second experience was identical to the first, A warm welcome into the restaurant, staff are relaxed and composed, and the kitchen waiting to prepare delicious food. I said to ric … this time I was disappointed…… because we need to leave the next day and I cannot continue to eat at this restaurant lol. Delicious pasta but on the salty side. If you’re looking to try authentic bolognese, this is one of the best places! They do not skimp on the beef sauce. The gnocchi in beef broth was also very flavorful and the soup as well was very tasty. Would recommend the truffle ravioli too they gave so much truffle. The service was on the interesting side… the waiter was a bit rude and neglecting not sure if he was trying to be funny? Didn’t come off very polite.

Make a booking now, the food and wine are sensational. We were there on a Monday night and saw at least 20 groups be told they were booked out, even for a table of 2. Having eaten the best meal of our past 4 weeks I can understand why it’s so popular.

Absolutely loved this place! Ristorante Da Cesari delivered one of the best lunches I've ever had in Italy. You can truly feel the tradition and taste the soul of authentic Italy in every dish. Beyond the fantastic food, the staff are incredibly friendly and welcoming, making for a wonderful experience. Plus, the decor is absolutely beautiful; every detail is charming. Highly recommend!

Wonder experience. Stumbled across this restaurant on a thursday night and we asked if they had room and they made room for us without a reservation. The staff were so funny and sweet and very attentive even though they were busy. We had wonderful food and wine, it was a perfect start to our long weekend in Bologna! Thank you Mr Bosche Bol😆
