Dinner with a friend, we decide at the last moment to try this restaurant that has been so renowned over time. We call to book and the person who answers us, a woman, even seems annoyed, she gives us her availability almost as if it were a favor to find us the place, in reality the place will remain semi-deserted for the whole evening. We arrive and are amazed by the beauty of the place both outside and inside, we are made to sit in a room and we are offered to collect our coats, much appreciated.
We sit down and order from the waiter, who I believe to be the owner, a person of few words, too few, not a smile, not advice. The food is good but not amazing enough to justify the prices, especially that of the desserts, the service is essential, never a question if everything was fine, never a step beyond the arrival and collection of the dishes. But now comes the fun part, I ask for the bill and the immediate question is "Do you pay in cash or by card?". I am shocked and reply that I would have decided based on the amount. He brings the bill written on a very ordinary A4 sheet of paper folded in a case, €179 (two first courses, two second courses, two desserts, a bottle of wine, two coffees), I put the cash and the case returns to me with €1 change and without plus the bill sheet. I leave the rest annoyed at the lack of minimum discount having paid in cash and, after having collected the coats, I kindly ask to get the bill back. We go out and check it and, to our great surprise, we find two courses charged at €2 more, I go back and, to my observation, not only does he not trust it and takes the menu in his hand but he blames the chef for the mistake . Hahaha since when does the chef prepare the accounts? Okay, it could be strange though, the fact is that in addition to having spent an amount well beyond the food and service received, at home I also realize that the bill receipt wasn't even a tax receipt, they trust well with customers they've never seen Before. Then they complain about the commissions on electronic payments, next time I'll think carefully about how to pay, it certainly won't be in this place again. First and last time.
