I met Chef Giovanni Amato a few years ago when—I can say without fear of contradiction—he revived the restaurant scene in the splendid setting of the Miscela d'Oro restaurant in Piazza Cairoli. Now I've continued to follow him at his restaurant, which opened in April, which has retained its original name, "Crudo&Bollicine," but has nothing in common with the previous restaurant. There are few places in Messina where you eat well—they fit (and have plenty to spare) on one hand. Crudo&Bollicine is one of the best restaurants in the city if you love gourmet seafood and more, where culinary art marries tradition, exhilarating both the palate and the eye. The dishes are truly creative, and the ingredients are excellent. The wine list is excellent, accessible to all budgets. The location is enviable, with the port of Messina before your eyes, a unique natural spectacle with the Madonnina statue, the city's protector. Try it and believe it... you won't regret it. Chef Giovanni is a great chef with a reputation for stardom!

Beautiful location, facing the port of Messina with a view of the Madonna. Lilla, the Maître d', is extremely friendly, charming, and professional. Excellent food, excellent service...what more can I say.... We'll definitely be back to enjoy the delicacies of "Crudo & Bollicine" again...
