Civico 20 In Roccascalegna

The restaurant is located under a historic, and at the same time dated, building, a stone's throw from the town center. It does not have its own parking spaces but within a radius of a few tens of meters there are several, also the fact that the town is touristically "structured" for visiting the Rocca means that in any case you can park anywhere nearby and within 5 minutes you can is at the table. It has a beautiful large room inside and a few outdoor seats, where we had lunch on a beautiful sunny day with a view of the fortress. The menu is typical of the area, traditional dishes with an eye on vegetarian cuisine. We tasted a portion of "pallotte cacio e ova", a "village" appetizer which includes typical local cured meats and cheeses, two first courses (gnocchi with pumpkin cream and rintrocili with mushrooms and truffles), half a liter of house red, a liter of sparkling water and two coffees, 72 euros in total (see photo). Surely many will say that it is not cheap, in fact it is not, but I must say that in any case the price is fair and adequate for the dishes served, in addition to the fact that the kindness and courtesy of the dining room staff is excellent, the only thing that Perhaps the cover charge, 3 euros, is at odds with the price, which is also justified by the fact that a bag of 4 types of local bread is served. Of course, as I always say, THEY ARE MY PERSONAL CONSIDERATIONS BASED ON MY PERSONAL EXPERIENCE, having said that I cannot recommend it to everyone because the high price in such a place is much above average (in fact it was just us at lunch), and what chairs and tables outside are very neglected and with very uncomfortable seats, at least some cushions should be added, they certainly don't help for an overall opinion on the price. Being a "perched" town, the main road passes in front of the place with all that it entails (cars, trucks and tractors) and that those with walking difficulties or the disabled will find the place slightly uncomfortable, but after all, people come here to visit the Rocca, that alone is not suitable for everyone. As far as I'm concerned, if I were to return to the area, it's definitely a place to have in your favourites.

Nice restaurant, good food, normal prices. Friendly staff. I recommend the cover charge at 3 euros per person and a little excessive.

My husband and I took a motorbike ride and stopped for lunch at this place. The place is located right in front of the Roccascalegna castle, the food is good and plentiful, the staff is very kind, welcoming and helpful. We had a very good time. We will happily return.

A pleasant surprise. Also vegan dishes, declared on the menu, as well as all the ingredients. There is so much care in everything. The quality is high and the prices are adequate. But it is not the classic tourist restaurant. It's definitely something more.

The tables outside have a view of the castle, we had a good time, very friendly service and good food. The mixed starter was very plentiful and good, with excellent first courses.

Civico 20 is exactly what we were looking for on our family holiday. The dishes were authentic Abruzzese style, rustic, wholesale, fresh ingredients straight from the regions farm lands. We loved this restaurant so much that we came back a few more times during our stay in Roccascalegna. Nico and Valentina were charming hosts who made our experience even more delightful with their warm and friendly service. Side note: Make sure to try the Tiramisu. We thoroughly enjoyed the pasta class with was highly informative, well organised and great fun. It was followed by a tour of stunning Roccascalegna castle then back for an amazing lunch at Civico. Thank you very much to our attentive hosts Nico and Valentina and friendly waitress Jessica.

Sono stato a pranzo in questo grazioso ristorante a Roccascalegna in provincia di Chieti e sono rimasto davvero profondamente colpito e felicemente soddisfatto. Il cibo davvero ottimo, a partire dagli antipasti, con le pallotte cacio e ova a farla da padrone, ma anche tanti salumi e formaggi di qualità, accompagnati da mieli e confetture a km0. Ottimo anche il primo che ho ordinato con funghi e tartufo, e le bevande, Prezzi anche davvero super, cosi come la splendida accoglienza e simpatia di Nicola e Valentina. Civico 20 non è un sempice ristorante: Nicola e Valentina amano chiamarlo un Risto Art Gallery, dove puoi trovare mostre di fotografia esposte tra le pareti del locale e dove vengono organizzati periodicamente laboratori di cucina, eventi letterari e enogastronomici a tema. Consigliatissimo.
