A magical place, a paradise with sublime cuisine. You try different dishes every time, all of which are delicious. The only downsides are the bumpy road and the difficulty finding a table when you book. But it's definitely worth it...

I went there on a Friday for dinner. I already knew the location from summer aperitifs on the lawn, enjoying the beautiful view. The dinner was excellent, with game and delicious fried mushrooms. Excellent wine selection. Definitely worth returning.

I went there for dinner with friends. The location was beautiful, the view was stunning, and the restaurant was very charming and quaint, with stone and exposed wooden beams. The service was prompt and attentive, and the food was also very good. I had the rice bomb with porcini mushrooms and black truffle, which was very good. The truffle also had a lovely aroma and was flavorful. For the main course, the wild boar stew with baked potatoes was excellent! Then I tried the spicy black beans, which were very good and tasty. Lambrusco, water, and amaro were also served. Prices were average.

Rustic as a place, you eat well at reasonable prices. If you come on a Sunday, try the lady's erbazzone, it's super good... the view from the restaurant is spectacular.

Excellent, very quaint location, generous servings. I recommend Harley-Davidson owners to take the longer route, as the short road is a dirt road with huge ruts, suitable for dirt bikes or off-road vehicles.

We went out to dinner with some colleagues at this restaurant called "Circolo della Caccia," which is up in the hills of the Reggio Emilia province. It’s basically perched right on top of the hills, and the first thing I noticed when we arrived was just how stunning the landscape is. You get this incredible view stretching out over all the rolling hills as far as the eye can see. It’s absolutely beautiful. The restaurant itself is quite isolated—there’s really nothing else around, which gives it this wonderfully peaceful, rustic feel. There’s a lovely rustic terrace where you can just soak in the view over the hills. When we stepped inside, the atmosphere was also really simple and rustic. We went up to the first floor to eat, and at first it was empty, but as the evening went on, it filled up completely and got pretty full. As for the food, we ate pretty well overall. I remember the tortelloni, some horse tartare meatballs that were quite good, and also had carpaccio. Everything was generally tasty, nothing mind-blowing, but definitely good. The one thing I didn’t love was the Lambrusco gelato, which really wasn’t to my taste, and the others with me didn’t enjoy it much either. But aside from that, everything else was pretty decent. Service-wise, it was okay, nothing special, nothing terrible. At first, the staff seemed a bit rustic themselves, but given the place, that kind of fits the vibe. They were friendly and polite enough, so no complaints there. Overall, I liked it. The landscape alone is a reason I’d definitely go back, maybe on a summer evening when it’s cooler up there—definitely bring a sweater in the summer because it stays nice and fresh. And I can imagine in winter it gets pretty chilly. So I’m looking forward to another summer visit with friends or family!

We started with the fried porcini mushrooms, which were simply spectacular: crispy on the outside, soft and flavorful on the inside, a dish worth the visit alone. The homemade giardiniera was a delightful surprise: fresh, crunchy, and balanced, with artisanal care evident in every bite. The horse tartare with truffle and mustard is a triumph of flavors: top-quality meat, elegantly paired with the aroma of truffle and the bold note of mustard. A place that combines tradition, quality, and a passion for good food. Highly recommended!

We enjoyed some really good fish dishes...The dish I'll be back for is the pasta e fagioli with fish and mussels...DELICIOUS...a real treat. Very nice atmosphere, welcoming and friendly staff. The sardines appetizer was delicious, and for the main course, I had a beef fillet and baked potatoes. I found the dishes to be of high quality. The service was fairly quick. The zuppa inglese was excellent. Good value for money. Recommended

Macelleria Trattoria Fornaciari

27/02/2026: I've been to Trattoria del Macellaio Fornaciari in Reggio Emilia and had a truly excellent experience! The atmosphere is pleasant and informal, perfect for a dinner with friends or as a couple. The selection and quality of the meats are extraordinary: every dish is expertly prepared and the flavors are intense and balanced, from the tartare to the tagliata to the wagyu specialties. I highly recommend it!!!
14/02/2026: Let's start by saying that the owner is a true meat and wine expert, capable of providing effective advice, and the staff is friendly and knowledgeable. However, this doesn't change the fact that the prices (at least for the menu we ate, featuring Vacca Rossa Reggiana) are far too high, coming in at almost €70 per person for an entry-level bottle of Tuscan Sangiovese. For that price, you'll be dining in a proper restaurant with a proper cover charge (not on a paper placemat) and a very respectable location. Personally, I'll avoid it very carefully.
