Traveling along the A16, if you're not in a hurry and want to stop for a good coffee accompanied by quality pastries, it's worth making a small detour. Exiting at Grottaminarda, you'll reach the Bar Pasticceria Ciotola in just a few minutes. Despite some difficulty finding parking and a slightly dated-looking space, the initial impression is quickly overcome by the display of products. Babà and sfogliatella are a must-try. You can hardly go wrong; whatever you choose, the taste won't disappoint. A place to keep in mind.

Hello. During my travels through southern Italy I had the privilege of arriving in Grottaminarda where I ate the best cakes, drank the best aperol and was served by the most educated, handsome and smart picollo. With Rosario, at 16 years old, I was able to communicate in English without difficulty and he proved to be a child with a lot of common sense. Whenever I return to Grottaminarda I will definitely return to Ciotola for a good coffee, a great cake and a 10-star aperol.

It became a landmark in Grottaminarda! If ever you pass by this town make sure to stop by at this pastry shop. They have lots of sweets to choose from and some savoury food too!

Pizzeria Pulcinella da Ciro

05/07/2026: A lovely place, with a vast and varied menu, excellent pizzas and fried foods, very professional and courteous staff, and a very friendly and helpful owner. I'll be back to try other delicacies, and perhaps, in addition to the pizzas, the food as well, since I saw an interesting menu. I highly recommend it.

Albergo Ristorante e Pizzeria Zi Nicolina

23/04/2026: Zi' Nicolina's restaurant was a wonderful surprise, discovered by chance in the heart of the Apennines between Campania and Puglia. It's a beautiful place, highly recommended. The restaurant is new and well-kept, and the food is excellent, almost all cooked in a wood-fired oven. The staff were all friendly and professional, and the quality/price ratio was excellent. I'd pass by that area just to go back to Zia Nicolina's.
