Ciardi Bar Ristorante is a must stop if you're anywhere in the nearby area. Not only for gluten-free options (of which there are many choices), but for those of us that can eat fully glutinized pastries. There are a small handful of indoor tables and some sidewalk tables. Many people take their food away, which is apparently less expensive. There are also many diners that eat at the pastry bar. They open very early in the morning and they are open all day long and have a well-stocked bar it seems. We also had scrambled eggs and some gluten-free sandwiches which were all very good. Again, if you are anywhere nearby, it is well worth the stop.

Ramon at the Ciardi Bar was kind and accommodating. The breakfast (included with our stay at Dimora Ai Fori) was tasty and helped with our morning start in Rome. The pastries and cappuccinos were enjoyable and light. We went back for a late lunch and had caprese , cannelloni and eggplant Parmesan, which were all prepared fresh and had very good mild flavors. I gave the noise level a loud comment but this for me was part of the life of an Italian and I was blessed to be part of it. Conveniently located very near the Forum and Colleseum, the Ciardi Bar is part of everything we love about Rome.

10/05/2026: The change in management is evident. Excellent fish and meat dishes, along with desserts and wines. Perfect service, and the bill is reasonable.
