18/03/2026: I've been wanting to try Cantina Simonetti for a while, and I must say my expectations were more than met.
The restaurant is located in the heart of Frascati, overlooking a truly charming little square that I imagine becomes even more pleasant in the warmer months thanks to the outdoor seating. For now, I've been able to enjoy the interior: a cozy, warm, and welcoming room that immediately makes you feel at ease.
We chose several off-menu dishes, and every dish was a confirmation: Ascolana olives stuffed with porchetta, Jewish-style artichokes, mezze maniche with oxtail sauce, and pannicolo with endive and carrot cream. Everything was extremely tasty and carefully prepared.
A special mention goes to the oxtail sauce, truly exceptional, rich and enveloping, and to the pannicolo, cooked to perfection and served with its own juices: tender, flavorful, and executed with great technique.
To accompany everything, two excellent red wines selected from a well-stocked cellar, further enhancing the experience. We finished on a high note with a delicious zabaglione and complimentary donuts, a gesture always greatly appreciated.
Impeccable service: attentive, friendly, and never intrusive.
A place definitely worth a visit... and one I'll gladly return to, perhaps to enjoy the summer version as well.
