We ate divinely, paired with truly top-notch wines; each course was described in detail, as was the wine chosen to accompany it. We had a truly enjoyable evening for my husband's birthday...and we'll definitely be back to try Salvatore's anchovy colatura ☺️

Newly starred in Campania (well deservedly so), but with a long tradition, which is proposed well outside the usual tourist routes, which would be enough to highlight the passion for cooking beyond the commercial operation. Salvatore Avallone offers essential cuisine, a perfect combination of apparent simplicity and innovation, with some "oriental" touches wisely placed, which never distort the flavor of the ingredients, but rather enhance them. There are two tasting menus available, basically seafood and meat, which vary by season, both very interesting (so a second visit is almost "obligatory"). Extensive wine list, with ample space for local and Italian wines in general, and with a good number of foreign wines. Few tables in the room, good separation and intimate environment: the furniture and tableware are commendable. Prices in line with a starred restaurant. Although it does not have a private parking, it is not difficult to find a place in the area if you arrive by car. An absolutely recommended restaurant, which is also worth a detour to visit.

Siamo partiti dalla Calabria per fare un tour enogastronomico in Campania e tra le nostre tappe avevamo fissato il Cetaria Ristorante prenotando con largo anticipo. Una esperienza che mi sento di consigliere a quanti amano i ristoranti Michelin. Lo chef è molto bravo accompagna i commensali con una cucina molto articolata ma allo stesso tempo leggibile e immediata. La maestria dello chef è accompagnata da un professionale e cordiale servizio. I locali sono molto belli e suggestivi poiché vengono ospitati in un palazzo del 700. Qui il buon cibo si mescola a gentilezza e cordialità e danno vita ad una bellissima realtà familiare. Bravi salviate e Federica vi siete metritati la stella. Ottimo rapporto qualità prezzo. Al bel palazzo esterno si contrappone un ristorante nella sostanza piccolo: con una saletta con due tavoli un po' troppo contigui (e rivolti) all'entrata, dove abbiamo mangiato, più una sala più grande con un tavolo che ci è parso da 12/14 circa. Locale però bello e tenuto bene, il servizio - ad esclusione dell'interazione personale - ottimo. Ci ha purtroppo servito al tavolo una persona spiacevole e scostante (a volte è meglio pagare un estraneo, per certi ruoli, perché fama e premi possono far emergere lati di sé in precedenza sconosciuti o sopiti), mentre lo chef, che si è presentato, è, di contro, una persona gentile, sorridente e disponibile. Abbiamo mangiato complessivamente bene, nel menù da noi scelto eccellevano la pasta mista in ristretto di astice affumicato, il pane "fatto in casa" ed alcuni dolci. Ma in un ristorante stellato, per ritornare, occorre anche quello che è mancato, di cui sopra.
