Nice restaurant, with a visible grill. The atmosphere wasn't very pleasant; as soon as we entered, everyone began to study us and figure out what a strange planet we were from (ironically speaking). It's obvious it's a small-town restaurant and they're not used to people from out of town, but that's not the restaurant owners' fault. I'd recommend some music because I don't like the sound of forks clattering at other tables, much less hearing conversations at other tables. Cooking meat is nice to do in the dining room, but not the carving, especially of large pieces. In fact, we witnessed someone carving it with a cleaver, and the banging on the cutting board echoed throughout the dining room. The service was good and attentive. The food was very home-made, but I expected better quality meat, and especially a cleaner cut, as I ordered a fillet and it was full of sinew… The wine in a jug was fantastic and very good. Order and rating of food from 1 to 10 - Mixed fried food 6 - Umbriachelli pasta 6 - Carpaccio 5 - Fillet steak 5 - Pappardelle 8 - Spaghetti carbonara 6 - Lamb offal 7 - Wine 8

The plethora beckons this type of retro establishment...it's an inn as it must have been since the days of The Betrothed, the Locanda della Luna piena, with its sideboard and walls painted to match! Very generous dishes. My partner and I ordered the 20-euro menu: tagliolini alla boscaiola: I've never tasted better in my life, not ruined by the presence of cream that masks all the aromas rabbit in potacchio (aka rabbit in cacciatora!)...superlative, with a blend of wild herbs and the rabbit's own livers simmered in house wine half a bottle of house wine, tart and thirst-quenching 1 liter of ice-cold water coffee. What more could you ask for? Plus, there's a terrace where they're sure to host festivals, barbecues, and karaoke in the summer! Perfect for friends, large dinners, ceremonies, bachelor parties, and even weddings...just think of the proximity to two of the most beautiful churches in the world!

Very good food, lovely staff, great price and huge portions. I ordered the daily menu in a gluten free version. It was so much, I couldn't even finish it.

A spacious trattoria with a rustic, family atmosphere, we were warmly welcomed and served. The food was excellent, and my tagliata was grilled directly on the grill, adding even more flavor. 😋

04/01/2026: Through a local friend, we came here for dinner to enjoy traditional cuisine. We had a manfricolo with broad beans, pancetta, and pecorino cheese, which was good but not as exciting as I'd hoped; a wild boar stew, which was good; and a guinea fowl cooked on a grill, which was good and flavorful. The creamed chicken livers were also excellent, perhaps a little dry, but ultimately good. The service was quick and friendly, and the prices were affordable. I'd give it a 4-.
26/10/2025: A very old and charming property in the heart of Narni. Family-run, with very friendly staff. It also has a restaurant serving excellent traditional cuisine. Ideal for exploring this ancient city. Recommended for those not looking for sophisticated accommodations. Covered parking is available near the hotel, and free for motorcyclists.

Trattoria Tipica La pergola

30/11/2025: La Pergola La Pergola restaurant is located in a truly picturesque alleyway: the charming entrance invites you in and promises a pleasant experience. The first part of the restaurant, however, is rather anonymous and doesn't do justice to the atmosphere that only emerges later: the internal garden, with a very well-kept and welcoming outdoor area, is undoubtedly the highlight of the place. Regarding the food, we started with the Baffo, which unfortunately turned out to be excessively salty. Next, we ordered some first courses: the toppings were good and well-balanced, but the pasta arrived a bit overcooked, which detracted from the overall experience. Among the desserts, the zuppa inglese was excellent, but the tiramisu was less convincing, falling short of expectations. The wine list is extensive, but we found several omissions, as was the case with the beers. A shame, considering the potential. The staff seemed rather distracted and not particularly knowledgeable, which impacted the overall experience. In short, La Pergola boasts a very pleasant outdoor setting and some interesting dishes, but there's room for improvement in both the cuisine and the service. It could become an excellent place with a little more attention to detail.
