Simple but spotlessly clean rooms with a splendid view. The welcome is friendly and professional, yet makes you feel at home. Excellent dinner, if desired, and a delicious breakfast with homemade products.

It's in an excellent location. At the foot of Assisi, yet in a quiet spot away from traffic. Family-run. Extremely helpful and accommodating. Quality breakfast and dinner. Beautiful rooms, excellent cleanliness. We'll definitely return.

My partner found this place by chance, and it's simply fantastic. Everyone is so kind, from the owners to the employees. They make you feel right at home. In the evening, they offer dinner, especially excellent meat. And, guys, it's incredibly clean. We've found the perfect place for when we return to Umbria.

I booked for a spiritual experience and to relive the life of St. Francis, an idol of mine having attended the Franciscan seminary. Without wanting to, I found... tranquility... a love for animals and plants (horses, cats, swallows, olive trees, flowers, aromatic plants...) and a love for my work, done with passion and a smile. The view was phenomenal. Thanks to everyone, and to Sandro, who conveyed St. Francis's message to those who work for him.

I recommend it to everyone. We will definitely come back. We loved it from the first moment. Family, homely, tasty and abundant breakfast. The family that runs the accommodation is very nice. They are helpful and extremely friendly. After the delicious and abundant dinner, the evening swim in the pool was very nice. The local wines are excellent. And the olive oil from the farm is especially delicious. Special thanks for finding my wallet, which I almost forgot to leave in a drawer. The lady who welcomed us was so nice that I felt at home the whole time.

5 stars because there aren't 10 but I would give 100 and a thousand, friendliness, sympathy, everything wonderfully perfect, the view of the basilica when waking up or the night illuminated under the starry sky by a spectacle that is indescribable in words, the dishes tasted with breakfast are of excellent quality, we returned after 15 years but everything remained as it was then...😍😍

Every dish is a welcome embrace: from the rich and flavorful first courses to the traditional second courses. The service is warm, attentive, and never intrusive—as if they've known you forever. The atmosphere is simple and welcoming, without excess, with a touch of elegance that makes you feel instantly at ease. Highly recommended for those seeking authentic flavors, without frills, but with a lot of soul. I'll be back soon... and hungry!

20/10/2025: I returned to Il Grottino after a very positive first experience some time ago with some friends, and I must say that this time too, the quality was consistently top-notch. Welcoming and well-maintained, with a warm, family atmosphere. The restaurant is tastefully yet authentically furnished, perfect for both a relaxed dinner and a convivial occasion. Traditional Umbrian dishes are carefully prepared using quality ingredients. From homemade first courses to meat-based main courses, everything is prepared with great care. The desserts are also excellent, authentic and beautifully presented. The portions are generous and the flavors are authentic, just as a true trattoria should be. Kindness, helpfulness, and expertise are the hallmarks. The staff are attentive without being intrusive, always ready to offer advice and make guests feel at home.
19/10/2025: The host is a very kind and helpful person, the place is very nice and the food is good and at a fair price.
