I only had the cake and a cappuccino for breakfast but it was really good, a very good shortcrust pastry for a pear and chocolate cake, other possibilities with blueberries etc.. historic restaurant, excellent location I think the quality is similar to the cake

I've known this place since I was a boy, and it's always been a success, both for the ambiance and the quality. The food is excellent, accompanied by good wine in front of a roaring fireplace. The staff are friendly and the service excellent. Reservations are recommended, especially in the winter. Seating is limited, even though there is plenty of space, but here, quality, not quantity, is paramount. The parking lot outside is open until 4 p.m., with a few games for children and a stunning view of Lake Maggiore that's truly worth it. The road to get there is a bit rough, so take it slowly, with its typical hairpin bends and narrow streets, but it's manageable.

01/11/2025: Terrible experience. Excessively expensive for what's on offer. No vegetarian or gluten-free options. The appetizer was crappy. Side dishes were sparse and mostly potato-based. The steak was only seared. I asked for apple pie as per the menu, but was served a bland slice of Margherita cake, not even particularly fresh. I won't be returning.
12/10/2025: We had lunch with friends and were very pleased with the quality of the meat and the variety of the rich and refined menu, in keeping with the tradition of fine cuisine. The atmosphere is elegant, the staff impeccable, and the wine selection is excellent and carefully selected. Congratulations!
