A very charming restaurant inside a cave. The food is excellent, sophisticated gourmet cuisine with local twists. The wine selection is excellent, and the restaurant manager recommends it.

What an extraordinary experience, over and over!! My wife and I recently spent a weekend in Sorano and ate at Cantina L'Ottava Rima Friday (dinner), Saturday (dinner) and Sunday (lunch). I have yet to find such a place in all of my Italy travels since 2018. With all of the food coming from the local farmers and Nicola being so passionate regarding art and slow food done with amazing quality I never get tired of eating there. Nicola is also a genius when it comes to wine and paring with food. And finally, it is in the most incredibly charming beautiful town. I highly recommend.

It was exceptionally good. Typical local, fresh cuisine. I enjoyed the handmade pici with porcini and a Soranese sausage specialty so much that I dreamed about them and would have loved to have them again for breakfast. Everything else we ordered was just as good. A definite recommendation and a wonderful opportunity to experience authentic regional cuisine.
The service was friendly.

Folks! It's possible to go smaller! Here, the community celebrates itself.
I personally didn't feel particularly comfortable in the dark and musty cave.

There's not much to say: if you love good food and fine wines paired with the dishes recommended by the owner, who is extremely knowledgeable, then you absolutely must try "Cantina L'ottavaRima"!!!!
The owner is very knowledgeable; he recommended wines to pair with the dishes, and I must say they paired perfectly!!!
The place is very charming, a cellar carved into the rock, with just a few seats, and you feel right at home. The food is excellent, authentic Tuscan cuisine. We will definitely return and recommend it to friends. Meanwhile, we return to Rome truly satisfied and with wonderful memories.

Inaspettata scoperta passeggiando per i vicoli del borgo: un locale dall’atmosfera magica. Tagliere e dolmades rivisitati veramente buonissimi e di qualità. Personale gentile e simpatico, vino ottimo. Esperienza super positiva!
