Caffe Sant'Angelo In Montalcino

Ci siamo andati due giorni di seguito ed è come se avessimo mangiato in due ristoranti diversi con risultati eccezionali in entrambe le serate. Tutto i piatti di primissima qualità. Per gusto personale mi sento di consigliare il filetto d'anatra e il peposo ( ma tutto dai pici alla gricia o le fettuccine fatte in casa con carciofi e pistacchi strepitosi). In più i dolci, wow. Infine un applauso a Daniela e Pino che gestiscono questa boutique del gusto tutto da soli.

We were trying to have lunch at a fancy winery nearby but it was closed, which led us to this amazing and memorable local restaurant. In our two week vacation it was probably the best meal we had. I still talk about this meal years later. Go! It’s casual yet charming and so delicious.

What can I say... Pino is always a guarantee. Tonight I was lucky enough to also eat the duck with orange and pistachios and a new entry dessert, the chestnut and mandarin mousse, fabulous. Thanks, see you next time 😉

Real tavern, for those who love informal places and grandmother's cooking. Few tables, paper placemats as napkins. Menu handwritten every day on straw paper. In addition to the inevitable cured meats, really good ones made by the butcher in front of the tavern, excellent cheeses, we find a baked pear and cheese and pecorino flan. The first courses: Thick tagliatelle made by them with white duck sauce, all the other pastas are artisanal and not made by them, by explicit admission (great honesty). Swoon-worthy mushroom and chestnut soup. For the second courses we tasted stewed wild boar and sausages with Sangiovese reduction and side dishes included. All good. Excellent desserts. A small shelf of wine with labels from Montalcino and Montecucco, where there is no shortage of real gems. To conclude, I am as honest as the people who courageously keep this place from other times alive. When you enter, don't rush, Pino and Daniela do everything themselves including offering their friendliness and humanity. Thank you

Simplicity is the strong point of this place... starting from the owners to the location and obviously the food, which is simply genuine and with ancient flavors... now so good it is almost a rarity to find it... but evidently in small villages it's still possible...the tagliatelle with duck ragù were spectacular...so I photographed them for you!! The peperina cake was a discovery... with chocolate 🍫 and chilli pepper 🌶 ...and what a pleasure! In short, we liked everything a bit!! I really think that the tour in Val D'Orcia started off really well!!!

Super restaurant!!! The food is very good, the owners are wonderful people!!!

Location incantevole praticamente in mezzo alle vigne, locale non ampio, arredi vintage che fanno molto osteria. Il titolare, sig. Pino, ci ha deliziato con i suoi piatti , ben collaudati, d'impronta toscana con materie prime a chilometro zero. La simpatia, disponibilità e professionalità del titolare ci hanno conquistato. Dall'antipasto al dolce è stato tutto buono, ben fatto, con tempi di attesa giusti che fanno intendere che tutto viene preparato espresso. Buon vino locale della casa. Siamo stati talmente bene che siamo tornati nel giro di due giorni. Lo consiglio a tutti coloro che vanno in gita dalle parti di Montalcino e dintorni. Rapporto qualità prezzo ottimo

This tiny, quirky little cafe has delicious local cuisine on a handwritten menu. The eclectic decor ranges from pictures of Banksy installations to antique scales. It's difficult to find, because the signage is obscured by tres, and it's not exactly where Google Maps claims.

Great food and wonderful ambiance. The assorted meats were very good and the sausage and potatoes were excellent!
