A bit of faded glory. They are victims of success. I always go there with guests because they have heard about them. Waiters often look disheveled. Why does the balcony have to be closed when it is above 10 degrees? People come just for the view?

we stopped in here for a rest half way up the hill and glad we did because the coffee and cakes were amazing with a view as well. a bunch of gluten free stuff available such as meringues.

Historic café in the center of Montepulciano. Beautiful place with the warm atmosphere of an elegant "café" from times gone by. Delicious pastry shop, friendly and helpful staff. A must stop if you pass via di Voltaia del Corso at nr. 27. Highly recommended.

Average food for high prices. The location is very nice, the food was okay… “mixed salad” was just lettuce…

Everything we had here was delicious, and that says something since we're vegetarians and what we can have is always very limited, and the view was also amazing. Though the meal was a bit expensive, I would totally recommend coming here and we will come back if we are ever back in. Montepuliciano!

We went for breakfast, a historic place in Montepulciano, good pastries even if it is more expensive than average, cappuccino absolutely to be seen again, it was not up to the price charged, because the milk had a rancid quality as if it had been reheated many times, I really don't expect it from a place like this... We're not quite there, (€3.80 served at the table)

29/02/2024: I went for two evenings in a row, a truly small oasis for us celiacs, you can taste from excellent Sienese dishes to classic pizzas, highly recommended.
24/02/2024: We stumbled upon it by chance, we couldn't have found a better place! Very nice Tiziana, we ate like God, wonderful fried artichokes, a delicious platter of cold cuts, special pici with garlic and, ... last but not least ostrich stew with orange, delicious you have to go!!!!!

Ristorante Il Pievano

08/11/2023: As this was the only one star Michelin rated restaurant in the area we had high expectations. The restaurant is set in an old convent, turned into a luxury hotel. As expected the service and advise from the staff and sommelière are excellent, if a bit stiff. They have two different menus plus a blind menu with 10 surprise dishes at 160€. The wine accompaniment is 130€ per person. There is a lot of creativity in how the Chef creates his dishes. However, none of the various dishes were in the category of amazing, wow or excellent. The dishes look nice and tasted OK. But that’s about it. They also hurry you along a bit. You are still with one wine and they already pour the wine for the next dish that arrives within a minute. Wine accompaniment was a bad choice considering you pay so much money for just five small glasses of wine, plus a grappa. That comes out at 20+ € per glass. The wines served should be super Tuscan category, but the wines were way below that. I had checked one wine, the Sauvignon Blanc from Graf in Meran. Retail price is just 16€ per bottle. Just imagine what kind of wine you can buy today for €260 (wine accompaniment per person is 130) in a restaurant.
